Introduction Text Hello! Welcome to my PINK FLAMINGO SparkPage! I am a Christian woman who is also a wife, mother, grandmother, retired teacher now on-line ESOL teacher, tutor and health coach. I joined the VIPKid community teaching English to children in China online, and I LOVE it! I am a writer, and I deliver flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. I thank God for my family and friends and all the opportunities I have been given. SparkPeople got the ball rolling, and now it and OPTAVIA (previously named Take Shape for Life) is showing me that I can be successful. I had lost 45 pounds and got half-way to my goal weight, but then life happened, and I gained the weight back and another 20 pounds. I joined the Pink Flamingos with the Biggest Loser Team in the fall of 2018 and have lost more than 37 pounds already. I went down at least one size. I like shopping more now because I can fit into more, and it is more of a reward for me than food now. My goal is to eat well through the challenges and to exercise. I would also like to get a handle on my Hashimoto’s and thyroid issues once and for all. All my other medical tests, bloodwork and BP are A+.

This is it...I am coaching through SparkPeople and OPTAVIA (previously TSFL) as I heal my own body and mind. I have gotten to the place in my life where I am able to get back to center and FOCUS on what I want and need. As a retired special education teacher with 35 years of experience, I am now able to simplify my life by seriously de-cluttering my junk. I can now become the OPTAVIA coach I want to be. I can write and travel. I can be the daughter of Christ that He created.

I am a strong Christian, happily married woman (24+ years) and proud mother (of 6) and grandmother (of 7). I am a retired special education teacher as of 2018 with 35+ years of experience. I was the past department chair and the current Student Service Learning Coordinator at the time of my retirement. I was a Students Against Destructive Decisions sponsor for 27 years. I am a member of our local business networking group and an OPTAVIA health coach (previously known as TSFL). I teach English on-line to children in China. I also tutor and deliver flowers. I have been active in my church, Emmaus (now Board Chair/CLD) and in the local theater, Port Tobacco Players (actor, props mistress, stage manager and assistant director). I am looking for simpler pleasures now, so I have more time for me and what is most important to me…my relationship with Christ, time with family and friends, good health, travel, writing and volunteering.
