Come on Lar, let's go for a walk!
The lake across the street from my condo has a 1.2 mile fitness trail around it.
This is the NCAR trail which connects to the Mesa Trail.

Hi all! I found this site while looking for calorie information on foods I was eating regularly. After a recent surgery, I lost 10 pounds in two weeks due to a "bland" and mostly "liquid" diet, and I wanted to lose more weight and get in better shape so I can enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Hi all! I found this site while looking for calorie information on foods I was eating regularly. After a recent surgery, I lost 10 pounds in two weeks due to a "bland" and mostly "liquid" diet, and I wanted to lose more weight and get in better shape so I can enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Following the surgery, I was only allowed to walk for exercise with no lifting or straining. My first walk was for about 1/2 mile at a rate of 30 minutes per mile.
A week later, I started the fast break in conjunction with my walking regimen and the pounds started to go away at a steady rate. I'm now in stage two, eating healthier and have regained most of my energy. I've worked into a regular pace of 17 minutes per mile and walk between 40 minutes and 1 hour per walk, usually 5 days a week.
When I graduated college, I weighed 175 pounds and could ride my bike more than 100 miles in a day. Through 35 years of fast food, a semi sedentary life style and enough sugar to sweeten all the tea in Asia, I ballooned up to 236 pounds. My goal is to get back down to 175 and be able to bike a century.
I know I'll need help and encouragement before I'm done, but I'm committed to this and I will succeed. Thanks Sparkpeople for your help and information.
