Thanks for your note. You'll never guess what article that SP send to me today, "3 Ways to Stop Negative Thinking." Hmmmm, just coincidence, or what?

Thanks for your reply to my Spark Mail. It's so funny that you included in your note "if it happens fine, if not so what;" I almost wrote something very similar, "if it happens fine; if it doesn't, then it wasn't meant to be." So, does that make us pessimists? My husband is always telling me I look at the glass half empty; he says I should look at it half full. I think I was more of an optimist when I was younger; but, through some of my experiences, I've learned not to expect, then I'm not disappointed with the results. At the same time, I'm always telling my husband and our kids to give people the benefit of the doubt; isn't that optimistic? I think whether I'm a pessimist or an optimist depends on the situation and my attitude at the time. I am trying to lighten up a bit and be more positive about things! I do believe we should expect the best out of everyone; but, sometimes that's easier said than done. (Oops, there goes that negative attitude again! At least I'm realizing it; be patient with me, I'm a work in progress.)

Oh, almost forgot. Thanks for adding me to your friends list; I've added you to mine too. This way we'll be able to get back and forth to each other's page easily.

    Hey, Lee:

Just saw your comment on one of the threads and thought I'd stop by for a visit. I noticed that you are a "newcomer" to SP, so I do want to welcome you and congratulate you on your decision to take off the ten pounds before it becomes more (wish I'd been wiser at the beginning of my weight gain).

As you can see from my starting weight, I didn't do that. This isn't the first time I've lost a lot of weight, but I'm determined to make it my last. Not only am I tired of the big yo-yo in my weight, but I know this extra baggage is detrimental to my health. Through SP, I'm not only learning how to get rid of the bad habits and exchange them for good ones in order to take off the weight and maintain once I've taken it off, but also that I need to look at this as a journey to a healthier lifestyle, not a diet!

One of the suggestions (though it looks like you may already be doing a little of it) I make to the new members is to pick a thread of interest, start at the bottom and read to the top, stopping along the way to visit some of the members' pages. This method is very time consuming, so don't try to do it in one sitting; but, you'll find it very encouraging and supportive and well worth the time.

I also notice that JOANNS4 commented about walking together if you lived closer to one another. Granted having someone right beside you during your walk is great; but, don't let distance stop you. You can do a "virtual" walk. Several of the teams have challenges that include this concept. So, check it out.

I look forward to getting to know you through your comments on the threads.

    Kat
