I started seriously changing my lifestyle in Jan. 2010. Did real well with staying within calorie range and lost 27 pounds in just 5 months. Then summer happened, then budget cuts, more stress at work...and I stalled out on my momentum and motivation.
Library expansion back injury ( summer 2012) put a screeching halt to my exercise program and I plummeted into bad eating choices and lost my "want to".
It's now July 2017. I will regain my strength. I will recharge my healthy momentum. I will overcome the challenges of physical mobility limitations and be victorious.


I'm looking forward to achieving results one small change at a time.

My Goals:

Since I have been bouncing back and forth with commitment and consistency, I'm focusing on the following strategies:

*Log all food good or bad.

*Plug in at least 2 SparkRecipes per week.

*Seriously restrict the sweets allowed in the house.

* Drink 8 glasses of wa-wa a day.

* Stop my negative self talk.

*Add gentle exercise as much as my back, shoulder and knee will allow.

*Commit to floor exercises and stretching daily to maintain spinal mobility.

*Stay positive and encourage others along the way.

I am committed to being honest with myself about how much I am actually eating by using the Nutrition Tracker.

    I have foolishly wasted my time eating the clean diet in which it's full fat foods. Yes, I've lost 19 1/2 inches in the past 6 weeks, but the scale has been unkind. I have decided to get back on track with eating within the SP plan ... just organiczlly.

    I hope your goals are being met day-by-day.

    Wow Brenda! That sounds awesome. You must have a large space for planting huh? That's a lot of planting- no wonder you're sore! I've been reading some books lately about how eating so many processed foods and having all of the pesticides and herbicides in our food is damaging our metabolisms and our overall hormonal balance. I've started buying organic food, and trying to eat more whole foods overall. Being that it's so expensive, I've been thinking about growing some of my own stuff. I don't have any land, but I was thinking about just getting one of those Topsy Turvy things to grown my own tomatoes, and then just growing my own herbs in a planter to save money on that. I'm squimish about bugs and dirt, so I'm not sure I'll go through with it, but I think I will eventually break down and do it.

    Speaking of "squat muscles" mine feel like they're going to fall off. This strength training workout I've been doing is killing me. It's funny that such intense pain also comes with such a sense of pride and accomplishment. I've sworn off the scale for the month of April, so I don't know if I've lost anything, but I feel smaller, and I'm fitting into pants that I haven't been able to button in a long time, so that is definitely a good sign.

    Our students here are starting testing today too. It's funny that there is so much pressure on them and on us for them to do well, but they (the school district) continue to implement programs that we're telling them don't work. Oh well, I guess we just have to do what we can :)

    Good Morning, I ordered a nice weekend for you so you can be outside and dig in the dirt. " Tee hee" I know how you love that. If it has to rain it can do it in the middle of the week, huh? John and I have our 5 miles in already. Going to Costco this afternoon. We don't have any plans for the weekend, we are going to play it by ear.....:)
