I don't miss the snow or the cold of Upstate New York, but I miss the people and my family. The Arizona desert and mountains are beautiful and keep me inspired. Sparkpeople keeps me motivated to reach my goals.
Since I started Sparkpeople so much has happened. My parent's did celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 1st 2006! And then in September 2010, my dad passed away. Mom has been missing him so much but at age 92, she keeps on finding meaning in life.
My 64 yr old sister Laurie passed away in March 2015. She was the co-leader of Sparkpeople "Moving Forward Through Grief and Loss" Spark team. My family misses her so much, but memories of her make us smile.
I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, reaching my goal weight in 1990! Yes, that 1990! Now I am heavier than ever and am ready to release everything that is holding me back from my true self.

Hi Mary...glad you stopped by my page! We weren't affected by the tornadoes but seeing it on TV was scary enough. The place where it hit was an area we had actually thought of moving. The house we ended up in is much closer to Tampa and towards Sarasota. We'll be down the street from the National Weather Service's office. Will be moved by the end of this month. I hope you are able to get back FT if that's what you want..and if VO does end up losing the bid hope the new company keeps all of you as VO did when they won. I sure don't miss all the uncertainty of the company.

    Hope all else is well...Robin

Mary, I love the picture of your family with the LIPS! That is such a RIOT! It's like when my 3 sisters and I get together it's hard to get a serious picture 'cause we're just laughing and playing around and enjoying each other so much. Next time I expect us to get all together (we're now in FOUR states) I'll have to see about scaring up some lips like those! Where on EARTH did you get them? I remember being able to buy flavored wax lips at the candy store bleep years ago! -Shel

It is great to meet you. I started out riding just the way you do it, riding in exchange for work at the barn. Makes you appreciate what you are getting, and also gives everyone at the barn a chance to know you're serious and trustworthy.

Go for it, and don't give up. Even when there is the darkest dark around you, somewhere there is a light.
