Hi Spark People!

I joined this because the agency I work for introduced us to Sparkpeople and we had a challenge during the month of November, 2008 and I thought I'd give it a try to lose weight. Although our agency's challenge has ended, I will continue on Sparkpeople because it is slowly working for me. I work as a Career Counselor, which means I listen to people tell me about their problems every day and I work with them to help them learn how to solve them and also try to help them figure out what they want to do "when they grow up". I also try to help them find the "right" job. It is a tough job right now in this economy and a lot of people are telling me they are depressed, so I need to make sure I take care of me. I live alone, so I need help with motivation. Sparkpeople and the wonderful people on Sparkpeople provide me with that motivation and accountability. It is such a positive site! Good luck to everyone in their goals and here's to living a healthy life!

Fitness Minutes: 1,649

My Goals:
I really want to lose the weight I've gained in the past 2 1/2 years; it's hard to put this in writing, but I've gained 50 pounds! I have been feeling good about myself, so I think I was in denial about how much weight I'd gained. I still feel good about myself, but I want to lose the weight to be healthy. It seems the weight has been creeping up on me since I turned 30 and now that I am close to 40 (yikes!), it is harder and harder to take it off! I also want to get back into my old clothes so I don't have to continue to buy bigger sizes. I also want to feel better in general and have more energy. After 60+ days on Sparkpeople, I have greatly reduced my calorie intake, I eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, switched from regular soda to diet, eat almost all of my meals at home, and have started exercising again. I don't think I've lost much weight yet, but I will!


My Program:
I am tracking every calorie I eat every day and I am working on getting into the habit of exercising 3-4x/week, this seems to be the really hard part for me lately!



Personal Information:
I live in Minnesota; ya sure ya betcha!


Other Information:
I absolutely love dogs! I have 2 Pekingese of my own; one was a rescue. My parents have 2 Papillons and I adore them too! Dogs are sooooo much fun!
