1/02/2012 - A new year!
I left my spark behind a bit in 2011, but this year I have a new mantra and a new attitude and my goal is to keep it going.

4/18/2011 - I'm coming off 6-weeks on unemployement with the realization that during that time I sat around and snacked way too much. Today, I weighed myself for the first time in a long time and I have gone back into 160ville.

But I know that I can get back and even exceed where I was before. I've come from the 180s, so I know that I can reclaim positive momentum. I just need to DO IT!

I'm married and have two daughters (16 & 11) and I want to be an example. There is a lot I dream of us doing a lot of activities together, but I need to be in better shape for that to happen. The excuses need to go.

I don't want to forget how it felt to write:
So, I'm yet to be the runner I aspire to be BUT I'm a better runner than I've ever been.

I don't have a flat tummy BUT I've discovered my collar bones.

I don't always order the healthiest thing on the menu BUT I no longer make my choices blind.

I'm not going to be on the cover of a magazine BUT I'm starting to think that maybe I look good in certain clothes.

I don't always roll out of bed and throw on my sneakers BUT my sneakers are not collecting dust.

I haven't developed an ego BUT I am proud!

Half Marathon - ran it, finished it, need to do another one next year.

My Goals:
Goal - Figure out how to succeed in a way that is smart and sustainable.

Goal - To remember that I am only competing against myself!!!

Goal - Complete a 5K in under 33 minutes - Done

Goal - feel good about my Half Marathon time - Done

Goal - run 500 miles in 2010

Goal - Strength train at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes.

My Program:
My program as it stands right now: (always under construction)

Run - at least 4 times a week including a "long" run on the weekend.

Strength Train - time to get serious!

Food - be mindful of what I'm eating. And to not get lazy. I've gotten in trouble stringing too many "cheat days" together.

Hydration - I've learned that being properly hydrated has a lot of bonuses.

Personal Information:
