Healthy baby boy born in February (9.5 lbs healthy!) and now that we've done a great job at establishing a breastfeeding/nursing relationship I feel its safe to get back to weight training and watching my food intake. I'm about 6-8 lbs over my pre pregnancy weight. I'm not looking to loose it so much as gain more MUSCLE so I can carry around my now 15 week old nearly 20 lbs baby:) So I will be paying better attention to the QUALITY of the nutrients I am putting in my body! Now with the summer season here there will be an abundance of local, fresh fruits and veggies to enjoy! Perfect timing for wanting to tone up!

written JAN 2010 -Currently, I'm pregnant with our first child and so I'm using SparkPeople to make sure I'm getting a good variety of foods on a daily basis. Still on the "colourful food, lean meats, fruits, veggies" kick..and doing my best to maintain a healthy weight during this pregnancy in order to keep the birth more comfortable and set Junior up for success in his lifetime! (Junior is due in Feb. I'm a few days shy of 34 weeks and have gained 17lbs of good, healthy, baby weight..I'm still maintaining my activity level as best I can but with a giant stomach, it gets in the way! Over the xmas holiday I foraged on lots of fruits veggies and lean meats and am right on track for keeping at a healthy range of weight gain for this pregnancy! Go me!)

I'm Kate. I am 29, 5'9", married, no kids, 3 dogs, a parrot and a partridge in a pear tree (ok, the last part...not really true). I am a web designer and so I lead a fairly sedentary life. I would like to change that. I am married to a very very active guy and I would like to eventually be able to go with him on his runs .... and have the stamina to keep up with him. I work from my home office and so my schedule is VERY flexible. I have a membership at gold's and seem to go to the one on 13rth East and 7800 South the most if anyone would like to meet up there together during the day! yeay! Not LDS...a transplant from Chicago. I'm a big fan of reading and music and COFFEE! I'm looking to loose 17 pounds to get into a healthier BMI...right now I'm at 25.4 which needs to change!

BAAAAABY Fever! So I think what we should do is support each other in our year's goal to TTC, and check in weekly or so to see how we're doing in the areas in which we need to progress so we don't stray too far off task. I have SO much work to do in so many areas, not just weight, it's ridiculous. We could set up a private LJ community for it or something. I'm game if you're game!

Thanks for reminding me I need to read some Dr. Weil books and stuff! Roxanne was a big proponent of his back in the day, and I always meant to pick up some of his books and never got around to it. One of my goals for this year is to start going to the library again, so I made a library list. I just added him to it :)

I'm responding to your blog comment here because I don't know if it emails you if I respond at my blog! I do a pretty good job of eating on a schedule on my 'normal' days. The last couple of weeks were screwed up with the holidays and the kids being on vacation, but last week overall I did a pretty good job of sticking to my schedule when I started South Beach. And being on insulin means I know I can't really put off meals too much or my blood sugar will go too high... and I can't eat them too close together or my blood sugar will go too low. It's a PITA! But yeah, being sick kind of sucked because I was ALL kinds of screwed up. I'm still not feeling my best today but I feel better, and I HAVE to be on a schedule today because the kids are back in school. But the last two days involved a lot of me laying in bed and a lot of random napping, heh. OJ and I actually talked about it last night and if it happens again while I'm still having blood sugar issues he's going to try to help make sure I eat more. We also wonder if the headaches weren't worse because I wasn't drinking as much water as I typically do. I haven't called the doc yet; in the morning when the headaches are gone it almost feels like a false alarm, and even though it was just last night I forget how goldurn MISERABLE I was. I should call before Drake gets out of school. I'm having low blood sugar again. IT SUCKS.
