The Berbere mix is a winner! While it has a similar smell to my Bahkarat mix, the flavor and color are quite different. I mixed 1/4 tsp in with a little olive oil to bake chicken yesterday and liked it. I could taste a tiny bit of "afterburn" heat, but not bad. I just set up another pan of chicken to thaw and bake the same way, but tried 1/2 tsp of the mix while I figure out my "heat index."

I actually have all of the spices in the ingredient list except fenugreek, so may attempt making my own blend once I've used this packet up. Thank you both for your recommendation. emoticon

Weigh-in Saturday thoughts...I know the number on the scale is just a snapshot of a moment in time. I know my weight loss is part of a long, continuous, lifelong journey. I expect to sometimes feel great about the number and where I am on the scale. Sometimes it won’t be that way. When I have gained weight I know I need to re-evaluate the foods in my diet, my activity & exercise levels, water I am drinking, the stress levels I am dealing with, and my sleep habits and patterns. I know the scale does not define who I am. It doesn't make me good or bad. It only tells me whether or not I am on track to reach my goals. Then I make the adjustments needed and continue to follow my daily plan and I will see results over time.

“No matter what the number is, you and your body are worthy of your love and the love of others. You are the same wonderful person with unique talents and strengths, regardless of the number on the scale or the size of your body.”
    -Shari Broder

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.”
    -Jillian Michaels

Success equals doing the best that you can with what you have! Every single day!
