Monica...go stap on a gallon of water (which weighs 8 lbs) and see what a difference your 8 pounds has made. I know I'm just your old mother but I started August 1 and I've lost a total of 8.6 lbs!

The difference betweeen this and WW is that I had 4 not so good days in a row and didn't gain any weight....maybe a pound. That came off in 1 day.

SLOW & STEADY WINS THE RACE. If you lose 1 lb a week, you'll be 52 lbs lighter next sept! What's the hurry?

Yeah, lets both add at least 10 min cardio a day and get a streak going.

Actually 8 pounds in a month is nothing to complain about!

But to be honest, with the exception of a few weeks here and there, until I joined spark people, I never exercised consistently.

It has made a huge difference. Obviously, I have never before lost this much weight, (let alone so quickly), nor been so motivated, nor had as much energy.

Not to mention that I have discovered that exercise is a great stress reliever. I used to eat when I was stressed or angry or worried or depressed. Now I hit the treadmill and by the time the endorphins kick in I am as content as can be.

One thing that really helped me get motivated, was an cardio streak challenge on one of my teams. You had to do a minimum of 10 minutes of cardio per day, and see how long you could keep up the streak. I am currently on Day #59, and let me tell you, its a great motivator for those days when I just don't want to exercise...there is no way I am breaking a streak that long!!!
