I am a single mom of 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys. my girls are 11 and 5 and my boys are 7 and 12 months! Never a dull boring moment in our household! I am completely bound and determined to stick to it this time.Ive found myself to quit cuz ive gotten frustrated cuz ive hit that dead spot but Im not going to let that stop me this time! i have always had a weight problem especially now with 4 kids later lol. after my 1st one i never seemed to of been able to get rid of it. ive tried dieting multiple times and i may of lost a few but it always came back....PLUS SOME! which is what nobody ever wants.i used sparkpeople once before about 5 years ago but after losing 35 lbs i was stuck for 3 weeks and lost motivation. well ive decided i was more determined now than ever to get to where i want to be and be more happy with myself and get my self esteem up and have more of a positive attitude with self image if not for me but my kids.(of course having feeling better about myself will show to my kids also) and the biggest smile ever is when my kids want to work out with me. and its soo funny because my 12 month old will stand in front of the tv and act like hes 'walking in place' (as i do with the leslie sanson dvd) ! and i think that just gets me everytime. :-) but i want to be in better health and be more active with and for my kids and not letting a bad week discourage me and let me give up!

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles." ~ Audrey Hepburn

This coming Saturday, April 14, 2012 is International Moment of Laughter Day.

Seriously. You can't make up this stuff.

"International Moment of Laughter Day is certainly a day to put a smile on your face! ... Laugh loudly and laugh often. Watch a funny movie, read an amusing book, or just be silly with your friends. It is not the cause of the laughter that matters… but the effect.
Researchers have begun to examine positive emotions and their impact on a person's health and aging process. Based on the results from a scientific study at the University of Maryland Medical Center, laughter may give a jolt to circulation and have positive effects on the heart. In addition, laughter may increase the body's production of nitric oxide (a chemical that helps dilate blood vessels).
All of these positive impacts on your health are reason enough to laugh not just today, but every day! So go ahead and be silly and laugh at your own jokes. And don't forget that laughter is contagious!" (http://www.punchbowl.com/holidays/interna

For ways in which to spread laughter be sure to read this wikiHow article: http://www.wikihow.com/Spread-Laughter

And if you need a helpful start on getting your laugh on, you absolutely must watch this amazing award winning 3-minute animation. Trust me, the irony of posting this on a weight-loss support site is not lost on me!

    Happy Almost Easter!

Ever wonder where the easter bunny and easter eggs came from?

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

"The name “Easter” was likely derived from Eostre, the name of the Anglo-Saxon lunar goddess, as was as the name for the female hormone estrogen. Eostre’s feast day was held on the first full moon following the vernal equinox — a similar calculation as is used for Easter among Western Christians...Two of Eostre’s most important symbols were the hare (both because of its fertility and because ancient people saw a hare in the full moon) and the egg, which symbolized the growing possibility of new life. Each of these symbols continues to play an important role in modern celebrations of Easter."

And by the way, before diving into your easter basket this year you might want to take note of the following:
One Cadbury Easter Creme Egg (*yum*) is 150 calories, contains 6 grams of fat, 21g of sugar and only 1 gram of protein. Not so bad, right?
However, One Hard Boiled Egg (painted or unpainted) is approximately 70 calories (depending on the size), has 5 grams of fat, 1g of sugar, and 6 whopping grams of protein. Not only that, but did you know that eggs help boost brain health, reduces inflammation, provides our body with much needed Choline, promotes weight loss, helps with heart health, improves your cholesterol profile, prevents blood clots, and protects eyesight? Whew! Lets see our little chocolate cream egg do all that! So what are you waiting for? Release your skinny, creative artist and get colouring those easter eggs!

I know I'm a couple days early, but I may not have time to post on the weekend, so...

~~ If only for today: smile a little more, sing a bit off key, laugh loudly and long, dance, skip, jump, play. Eat with your hands, hug every kind soul that crosses your path. Finger-paint, face-paint, body-paint. Do something brave. Squash a fear. Get out of your shell. Wear something sparkly. Be wild, be strong, be silly. For being foolish can make you happy but being happy will never make you a fool. ~~ Michelle

Happy Almost Spring!! This coming Tuesday marks the Spring Equinox and in preparation for the first day of the new season I would like to wish you a brand new start, never-ending moments of poise and balance and a joyful tip over on the scale to the side of light. I wish you a new dawn, an eternal youth and a morning star to wish on. Whatever battles you are fighting, whatever stresses may come your way, may they melt away with the winter and may you be granted a time of new light and a new life where your wildest dreams come true. ~ Michelle

"Celebrating the Spring Equinox: The spring equinox is one of the four great solar festivals of the year. Day and night are equal, poised and balanced, but about to tip over on the side of light. The spring equinox is sacred to dawn, youth, the morning star and the east. The Saxon goddess, Eostre (from whose name we get the direction East and the holiday Easter) is a dawn goddess, like Aurora and Eos. Just as the dawn is the time of new light, so the vernal equinox is the time of new life." - from http://www.schooloftheseasons.com/spring.h
