My name is Karen, I'm 70 years old, and I'm DONE being the fat girl! My highest weight ever was 250 lbs. I started my Spark journey in Oct. 2010 at 230 lbs and lost 80 more lbs down to 150. Gained a few of those back to 158 but as of March, 2020, I'm down to 142. My goal weight is 137.

Dieting doesn't work for me, but eating healthy foods and moving a little more does, so that is my plan. I am so thankful for SP and those here who share this journey to health and fitness! Welcome to my page - please leave a note to let me know you were here.

My Goals:
A permanent lifestyle change with more fruits and veggies, more activity, less junk food. Moderation, NOT deprivation!

My Program:
1000 to 1300 calories a day. Walk 2 to 3 miles outdoors, or indoors with a Leslie Sansone DVD, or use my recumbant exercise bike, at least 5 days a week.

I'm a FitBit Versa user. It motivates me to keep moving and reach my step goal of 7,000 steps a day.

I live in western NY, near Buffalo with my husband, our adult disabled son, and a 6-year-old housecat named St. Pat. I'm blessed with a husband of 51 years who loves me no matter what. We are enjoying his retirement since October 2014. Our daughter lives nearby with her husband and 16-year-old daughter.

I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.

Other Information:
A favorite pastime is crocheting. It's relaxing and helps me to keep my mind off food. I belong to a local knitting/crochet group that meets monthly. We donate the items we make to local charities. Love to do online jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles.

I enjoy country music, especially the older music, and also southern gospel music.

I love to read, and am addicted to my Kindle Fire. My reading interests include a variety of fiction genres and depending on my mood, non-fiction historical books, and inspirational. I read 50+ books a year.

    Happy Friday!
After being housebound for the week I think it's definitely time for some fun with a few jokes and riddles that I'm hoping will bake your day just a little brighter and batter.
Nuttin's better than starting the weekend off than a few good giggles, and here's a variety of cookie jokes you can pick and chews from.
Some of these jokes are a little nutty, just like me.
Feel free to indulge and enjoy because they're calorie free!

Why did the cookie go to the doctor?
    Because he felt crummy.

Why couldn't Cookie Monster make his bed?
He couldn't find a cookie sheet.

What cookie can make you rich?
    Fortune Cookies

Why did the thief rob the Keebler Elves?
Because they had a large stash of dough.

Why did the little cookie cry?
Because his mommy was a wafer too long.

How can you tell that a blonde has been making chocolate chip cookies?
There's M&M shells scattered all over the kitchen floor.

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching." Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend, in spite of how the cookie crumbles!
