Retired. No longer working due to health issues. I live in Las Vegas. I love reading and playing with my IPad. I believe in the power of positivity and try to seek out the positive in every day.

June 2020

May brought some changes in my routine and in my life. I quit my job and I am officially retired from all employment. I plan to use this time to focus on my health issues. Once they are under control, hopefully, I will seek out volunteer opportunities to get me “out of the house.” However, for now, I’m good.

I actually lost a couple of pounds in May, dropping me below my maintenance goal weight. It wasn’t intentional but, oddly enough, I don’t have the cravings and emotional eating issues I had at the start of the long isolation period. While I am not eating 100% to plan, I find myself making more good choices than not. Also, I think, since I am practicing portion control (even with my not so good for me choices) it is helping me remain stable and accountable.

Las Vegas has begun opening up and, while it affords me more opportunities to get out and go, I am still practicing personal self-isolation in most cases. I probably will feel more comfortable in the months ahead but for now, again, I’m good.

Anyway, it is a new month affording lots of on plan opportunities so let’s keep moving forward people.

My Goals:
Continue eating lower carbs, with most of the carbs coming from whole or minimally processed foods.

Follow LCHQ meal plan.
Carb grams of no more than than 150 daily.
Do 30 minutes (minimum) of intentional exercise a day. Get 12K daily steps on my Fitbit.
Eat less processed and more Whole Foods in my diet.
Eat a minimum of 3 vegetables/fruits daily.


My Program:
Portion control, moderation, low carbs, sugar, and sodium while eating less processed foods and minimum sweets.

Plan: Reach my goal weight by 12/31/20.

Short Term Goal: Lose 1 pound a month from January through June.

Starting Weight: 157.4
January: 157.4
February: 156.4
March: 152.4
March 14: 150 GOAL!
April: 151.6 (still within my 2-5 pound maintenance weight)
May: 145.0 (a bit under my maintenance but still within 5 lbs.)
June:

Long Term Goal: Maintain my goal weight through 2020

Other Information:
I love to read, play the penny slots, and hang out with friends. I have successfully created a healthier lifestyle that will not only get me to goal but will allow me to keep the weight off through maintenance and beyond.
