    i am new here . trying to learn my way around.
    i started getting serious about losing weight and a healthier life style at the begiining of the year.
    with all the extra weight i carry i feel i am letting god down because it really is a hindrence to working for his kingdom.
    i feel with the grace of god and a little help from friends, old and new this really will be a new year for me.

    Hi Pam.
    I am new to SparkPeople. I have been on the dieting rollarcoaster and hoping to get off for good. I am also going to join the local YMCA in hopes of losing weight. Any advice is welcome. Thank you for the welcome and all things are possible thru Christ. Take care and God bless.

    I haven't finished reading your wonderful e-mail--but I plan to read it as a treat to myself tonight. I am trying to get over a bad cough. My daughter's wedding is next week and today I went to the Dress Barn and got a dress and pant and top outfit for the rehearsal dinner. I am 53 and after going to your spark page, I am very impressed with your perserverance and success with weight loss and the obvious discipline you have developed in excercising and fitness too. I would like to add you as a friend to my spark page, but am unsure how to do it. I still haven't got the weight loss graph either. One thing is frustrating---I can't change the amt of food when I track ----like a 1/2 of anything--or 2/3 c. I always have to use a full cup. Tonight I had 2 serving spoons of cooked brocolli (which had been frozen) and when I added it the amt was 10 0z of the stuff! In some foods it makes a huge caloric difference. Please advise me on this. Also, starting 3/8th I spent a huge amt of time on message boards and did postings but didn't get credit for it. Well I have to go to bed soon--and get over this bad cough.
    I am missing church tom, cuz I'm sick and can't do the ministries I normally do. I'll check my e-mail tom. am. Good night. Debbie
