I was on sparkpeople before under thehouses99.

January 1, I stopped drinking pop.
January 2, our church started a 21 day Daniel Fast. I was bound and determined that I was going to succeed.
I adhered to it to the best of my ability and by the end of the 22 days, I had lost over 8 pounds. I had one day that I hardly followed it at all because we were traveling.

January 23rd, I continued the Fast. I modified the food part because I need more protein. And then I added in dropping Facebook except for 3 groups that I am in and seeing what people tag me in (which thankfully isn't much).

January 26th. I reached my goal of losing 10 pounds. I use Fitbit, so I set a new goal of losing another 10 pounds (I have at least 40 more that I should lose). Fitbit says if I can lose 1.5 pounds a week that I will lose this next 10 pounds by March 12. We shall see.

Feb 10th. End of the 19 day Daneil Fast. I'm down a total of 13 pounds. Only lost another 3 pounds in 19 days. BUT The first 21 days was a big drop because of all the garbage I dropped...like pop, candy, chocolate, pizza...

Feb 25. I'm down 18.8 Pound!!!!

The battle continues... Hoping to lose 26 more pounds by June 3rd. (Beach vacation)

March 10th, down 20.2 pounds. Booyah!

May 25th, down 27 pounds.
May 29th, down 28 pounds. 1.6 more pounds to reach having lost 30 pounds.

I wanted to have lost 45 b now, but 30 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. That's pretty good, if I do say so myself. ;)

I set small goals, so new goal is to lose 11.6 more pounds by mid July. We shall see.

June 2, 2017 This was the date that I wanted to weigh 145 pounds. I didn't even come close, BUT. I DID lose 29.8 pounds and THAT is fantastic!

Today is June 22 and I'm down 32.2 pounds. I'm still plugging away. Slow and steady makes my skin not flabby. ;)

August 3, 2017. Weighed today. I'm down to 154.4 pounds. That is a 35.6 pound weight-loss since January 1. 10 more and I will weigh what I weighed when my hubby and I got married 18+ years ago. 20 more and I will weigh what I weighed 3 months after I had my first baby.

August 29, 2017. Weighed this morning. I'm down to 153. 37 pounds since January 1. I'm still plugging along! I ordered new jeans online the other day and had them shipped to the store. I asked to try them on because I thought they would be too small. they were too big! They grabbed the next size down off the rack and they fit perfect.
When I started the journey, my jeans were size 16-18. My new jeans are size 7/8!. I was wearing shirt sizes L/XL. I now wear a medium. The sales person picked out a dress for me to try on. It's in my profile pictures. It is a size SMALL! SMALL! Holy Cow! Talk about doing a happy dance! lol!

September 3rd weigh-in: 152.0
7-17 more pounds to go to my final goal.

September 21 weigh-in: 147.8
Went to the dr the yesterday. He wants me to lose 10 more pounds on top of what I had already planned...So...22.8 more pounds to go!

October 22, 2017 weigh-in: 148.8
First time (during this journey) that I have been under 150 without intermittent fasting, which is what caused my September weight.

Hm. I have seriously not updated this since October?!
Well. March 10th. Weight update: 138.6! Just 3.6 pounds from my goal!!

April 6, 2018 These last few pounds just do not want to come off. LOL! But I'm still working on it. Actually, right now I'm focused on training to run the IndyMini on May 5th. So I'm doing lower body workouts, upper body workouts, abs, yoga, functional training (each one day a week). Tues/Thurs, I run 3 miles after work. And on Saturdays I do a long run. Tomorrow....11 miles. By the time I run the Mini, it will be my second time running 13.

April 19, 2018 I'm now down to 137.8! Just 2.8 pounds from my goal. :) IndyMini is 2 weeks from Saturday!

I have races lined up from 4/21 through May 19, skip a Saturday and then run one more. This Saturday is a 10K, then the mini. The rest are 5Ks.

April 21, 2018
Participated in a 10K (6.2 miles). I did it in 1 hour and 13 minutes.

April 28, 2018
Participated in another 5K. Beat my first 5K time by almost 4 minutes. i did it in 33 minutes 44.23 second. :)

I did it! I met my goal weight! 134.6 pounds as of today. Now to keep it off.

Not really trying to, but am now 132.4.
Still running. Today I'm going to sign my family up to run in a Superhero 5K and a FireCracker 6.
And I'm now planning on running a full Marathon on Septeber 24, 2018 in Illinois. It will be my first!

My Goals:
* to be able to fit into my wedding dress from 1999. I can get it on and zip it, but not breath. ;) I need to dig this out and try it.
* to weigh what I weighed 3 months after I had my first child. (135 pounds) *Goal Met!*
* to jog an entire mile without stopping. Check! I can do this now on a treadmill!


My Program:
I work out with a personal trainer. So my workouts vary. Some days we walk 2 miles, some days we do strength training and add the rowing machine.

I started out doing the Danial Fast (which is basically vegan, but slightly more strict), but still eating some meat on occasion. After the first 40 days, I kept as close to it as I could, but changed my focus to staying between 1200 and 1500 calories. Leaving myself room to cheat if I want.

I've been married for 19 years.
We have a 18 year old son and a 16 year old daughter.
