I have recently recommitted myself to LIFE...to honoring the blessings of being alive by taking better care of myself. I am saying YES to my life! After many stops and starts, I am back on the path to wellness. My focus and attention has for so long been on everyone else's needs except my own and this shizzle is getting old! I'm 50 now and my oldest son is going off to college in a few months. I feel like I'm entering a new phase of my life. My recent blood work was shocking and scary...my numbers were horrible on nearly everything! I want to live the rest of my life in better health and with vitality. On January 2nd, 2012 I took control. I lost almost 20 pounds last month on the HCG diet and I am on a mission. Now I'm doing WW Points Plus and limiting "white" carbs. I stepped down from a stressful position at work and I'm moving more and more towards a healthier lifestyle to support continuing weight loss. I'm trying to stop talking the talk and start walking the walk by taking concrete actions to change my life NOW...if not now, when? if not me, who?

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live." -Jim Rohn

This feels like the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The mountain is so big! One day I looked up and had 80 lbs to lose. I used to be fit, athletic, and thin in my 20s and early 30s. I've gained this weight over the past 10-12 years...that's like 8 pounds a year...Wow that sure adds up!

But everything happens for a reason and this weight loss challenge is a signal that I have to rise to the occasion and climb the mountain. Success will not only mean better health...but it will mean that I will have grown as a person, found greater inner strength, and gotten closer to living to my fullest potential. NOW is the time!
