Introduction Text I am a 52 year old Mom to 18 and 15 year old Liberian princesses and the former Music teacher on the M/V Africa Mercy where my family served as missionaries to West Africa and Madagascar from 2010-15. We are currently back in upstate NY where I am now an elementary school teacher (after returning back to college for my Masters). I was not overweight as a child and it wasn't until I graduated from college 30 years ago and then after my Dad died several years later that I started to stress eat and became obese. A failed adoption attempt in 2000 while my husband and I sat in a hotel in West Africa sent me spiraling into depression but made me manic about my food intake. I lost 70 pounds but was unable to keep it off for more than 6 months. Two difficult but successful adoptions and then my Mom's illness and passing away 13 years ago gave me permission to eat without thinking. And then a rough emotional time for me a few years ago put me at my highest weight ever. I am done eating to make myself feel better. It's time to stop making excuses for why I can't lose weight. I need to be healthy for my two daughters and my husband and I need to turn this bus around!

I would like to be overweight! Even obesity would be better than the label of morbid obesity!!!

I am just eating smaller portions and not snacking at night. I want to walk 10,000 steps almost every day.
