I am retired but just beginning to live. I loved what I did, but I had little time for myself, so now that's my priority. My SparkPeople account is what I'm doing for myself. My change is a lifestyle change, the only kind that works, so I'm done dieting and ready to lose.

My Goals:
I'm working to improve my health. I will need to lose weight as part of that plan. I have some chronic conditions currently handled with medications, but I'd like to use a healthy eating plan and exercise to reduce my dependence on medications.
My Program:
As part of the 2016 Spring 5% Challenge, I'm committing to exercising at least 5 days a week--at least 30 min. daily of cardio and aerobic work and at least 10-15 min. of strengthening.
I also commit to staying in my calorie limit and drinking 8 cups of water daily.
