HI!!! My name is Tasheena and I came across SparkPeople via YouTube. After reading more about it, I thought, 'Hey, why not?' I want to lose weight for a number of reasons, the first being my health. That is number 1 to me. The second, I want to be able to keep up with my husband (a Marine vet.) when we hike and run, and workout. I'm a very competitive person and I would say I'm pretty athletic. I'm not afraid to sweat, that's for sure! :D I started gaining weight mostly because my stress levels have risen high within the last few years. I stress over the littlest things now. I hate that. I can usually be very dedicated to working out everyday, but as soon as I miss a day my whole plan is thrown out the window! Then I have lost all motivation to get back to it. Its a very sad cycle and I want to change that very much! I'm very excited about SP and am looking forward to meeting new peeps with the same challenges and goals as me. Goodluck to you! :D

* Lower stress levels
* Ace my classes

My Program:
So far, I have been eating pretty right on, according to my diet plan. I haven't been consistent with working out, but I plan to.

Personal Information:
I live in Carson City with my husband, 2 kitties, & 2 pups. I am a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and a descendent of the Washoe Tribe. My husband is from the Pyramid Lake Reservation and is a descendent of the Yurok Tribe. We like living in Carson (I grew up here), but we want to live closer to the Pyramid Lake Res. That's really where our hearts are.
We are both currently students, my husband is full time and I am part time. Next semester I plan on being full time. I am working towards a bachelor's degree in Human Development & Family Studies. I really want to work with children and/or families. I think its important to be family-oriented and even better if communication lines are open.
Anywho, that's quite a bit about me...

Other Information:
Recently I finished reading "Everyday is a Good Day - Reflections by Contemporary Indigenous Women" by Wilma Mankiller and I fell in love with it! So many great points and stories. I couldn't get enough! "Everyday is a good day" is now my favorite quote! Also, I love, "If it is to be, it begins with me." by Rodney A. Grant.

    glad to hear from ya! 3 lbs that's awesome. I haven't lost any yet :( but tomorrow i'm gonna reset some of my nutrition stuff and lower my calorie intake and i think that will help. and im gonna head to the store next week and load up on yogurt(greek) and lots of it. and lots of chicken breast and salad.

    what kind of things have you been making for yourself? have you stopped any foods? like junk food, fast food, candy lol. I gave up all sweets, and try to eat sweet fruit instead. i'm gonna get me some raisons bc too me it taste like candy.
