"IF YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE, YOU'RE ALWAYS GOING TO GET WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS GOTTEN."

That is one of my favorite sayings. It is also my philosophy for this life change path I am on. I have changed everything about the way that I eat, what I drink, and even my physical activity. I was going strong for about 2 years, losing and shrinking, and then it happened, LIFE. I got derailed, and gained back 57 pounds !

I decided that if I am going to take care of anybody else I have to take care of me first. But do we really do that in LIFE? Maid, cook, launderer, taxi driver, referee, sounding board, personal assistant, as wife, mother, grandmother,daughter, sister, aunt and friend, that's what we are to our families. We are so much more than that. We must take care of ourselves before we can be any of that, or we won't be here at all.

I will, and have gone back to my healthy lifestyle. Eating what I should be eating and not what's available. Walking and exercising on a daily basis. Spending time with the Lord, and myself, learning and growing in more ways than the scale.

My new goals are simple:
I WILL eat fresh, or frozen fruits and veggies, whole grains, turkey, chicken and fish, nuts, seeds, and beans, eggs, limited dairy, and water.

I WILL get at least one hour of exercise a day not including my walks.

I WILL learn to say "no" if it is something that someone else can take care of, or can wait until I do me.

I WILL let go of any guilt I may have over the learn to say "no" goal.

I WILL not let the previous two derail me.

I WILL succeed at this life change journey that I am on.

EXCUSES ARE JUST LIMITS WE SET FOR OURSELVES, NO EXCUSES, NO LIMITS !

My goals are:

1) To change my lifestyle as far as the food that I put into my body .

2) To get my exercise(at least one hour a day).

3) To give God all the Glory !

3) To help motivate and inspire others to do what I'm doing.

















My Program:
I am following the You Are What You Eat Plan, by Dr. Gillian McKieth.

I have cut out wheat (gluten) ,most dairy,all sugar,and all refined whites and processed foods, from my diet. I'm eating more fish,chicken and turkey, fresh veggies,and fruits, and whole grains, and loving it. I drink 8 - 10 glasses of filtered or spring water a day.



Personal Information:
My name is Sherry. I am from Seffner,Florida. I am 47years old with 226 pounds to lose when I started this journey. I walk every day(at least 30 minutes).I have a wonderful, very supportive husband of 16 years. I have 5 sons ages 23-27,with 8 beautiful grandchildren .


Other Information:
I love to cook. I collect cookbooks.



My favorite movies are Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, The Wizard Of Oz, A League Of Our Own, Forest Gump, and Just Cause.



I love all music because it all has a message. I prefer Gospel, Country Music, because they are the heart and soul of music.



I had taken classes to be a Natural Health Consultant, and Nutrition and fitness trainer, but got halted by life, and didn't finish. I am currently praying about finishing my education, in this field. Would you please pray for wisdom in this area for me?

    Thanks so much for the gift. I will treasure it always! Can't wait to read your first blog. You should never be afraid of what you write. People who read them usually only leave great comments so you will never know when someone reads it and doesn't agree with it. It helps you purge to make room for more weight lose. At least that is the way I feel. : )

    Thanks so much for the basket : ) Yesterday was just me my DH and my pooch. No fattening foods! Everytime I have a computer problem I email my son. He thinks I'm crazy because for a whole week I was the only one commenting on his MySpace (always about my computer). Have a Happy and Losing Week!

    Hi Sherry, welcome to you too. I absolutely love it here. I can’t even imagine my life anymore without the support, advice, well wishes and welcomes I get here. I have felt so alone in this weight loss battle for so long but now I have hope with SP!!! Thank you Lord!
    Yes, my sweet sister, thank you for mentioning her. How I miss her and the phone calls we shared so much. I miss that the most I guess, never being able to call her to just say hi.
    But it’s my grandbabies that help me the most probably. They sure are an inspiration. What a bunch of little dolls and I am so lucky because they sure love grandma. :) Do you enjoy yours as much as I do mine?
    I also stay at home a lot and I also get on SP constantly. I feel as though I need the encouragement and I sure get it here. Isn’t it wonderful? I read a lot of the articles and it’s so good to finally understand so many of the questions that I have asked myself.
    Sherry thanks for stopping by and saying hi. It looks as though we have close to the same amount of weight to lose. Let’s do this! I don’t know about you but I am planning a big trip for myself next year as soon as I can lose 100 pounds. I am hoping to accomplish that by October, 2009. A family reunion and meet a sister I never met. Long story. I am also going to be joining "The Red Hat Society". I have joined one of the groups for them here also. They’re a riot!
