Hello. My name is Sherry. I was using SparkPeople in 2012 and 2013 and lost about 50 pounds. I have now gained most of it back and feel so out of shape. I was in the hospital with DKA in August 2017. They first diagnosed me with Type 2, but have since stated it is more than likely LADA Diabetes. It is similar to Type 1 in a lot of ways but also has some similarities to Type 2.
Fall 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment
Strength Training free weights/videos Mon/Thur/Sat 60 minutes
Cardio Walk, Video Daily for at least 20 minutes, On days no ST 60 minutes.
Sunday is an Active Rest day so will walk, do yoga, or hike
Spring 5% Challenge Nutrition
Eat three fruits and 5 vegetables a day.
Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
Eat more fiber and complex carbs instead of refined. Add things like flaxseed, chia seeds to different recipes.
Eat one meatless meal a week.
Eat fish/seafood two times for dinner a week

My Goals:
Exercise 60 minutes a day daily
Eat three fruits and 4 vegetables a day.
Get 7 hours a sleep a night.
Reduce my stress level by taking time for me throughout the day (even if only for 2 minutes)

My Program:
Choosing healthy foods while moderating unhealthy. Deprivation is not the key to success.
Getting up from my desk at work and walking 250 steps every hour.
Doing some kind of cardio for 10 minutes a day

I am a 48 year old married with two adult children and 3 step children. Living close to Hershey, PA
