I'm looking to lose a few pounds, tone up and keep healthy.

My dear sister, SHEILARIE1, turned me to SP. I'm soon to be 61, although I don't feel like it. I never use to have any issues with weight gain, but that changed after age 40. I started gaining 2-5 lbs a year. Not enough to notice at any given time - just a slow but steady climb. My Goals:
Read my Bible every day.
Lose 10-15 lbs.
Tone up.
Drink more water.
Eat more fruits & veggies.
Get 8 hours sleep.



My Program:
 I've been using the Nutrition Tracker and the Fitness Tracker every day so far. It has helped me understand what I need to do to accomplish my goals regarding food and exercise. I like being able to check off my accomplishments throughout the day. It helps keep me on track.


Personal Information:
My husband and I left Silicon Valley in California for life in rural Virginia a few years ago. We have four grown children and grandchildren ages 7 to 17 years old. We are blessed to have our 17 year old grandson living with us this year. He is a delight and helps to keep us young.

    I see you and I are on several of the same teams. I love sp and the teams and everything else this site has to offer all free, I love it. I also see in your picture you and your husband took a cruise, my husband and I have taken them too, That was then. we have been married 30 years and this last 14 months I found he does not love me any more, I'm looking for an apartment that's based on my income. I'm on several waiting list. I'm so sorry I really didn't mean to write all this, I don't even know you yet, but if you want you can add me as one of your friend. we can't have to many friends can we.     Welcome to Sparkpeople! I see you're from my neighbor state, Virginia. Hi, from North Carolina. You look great in your picture. You're smart to go ahead and nip that gradual weight gain in the bud before it gets out of hand. I wish I had. But I won't condemn myself. I'm on the right path now and headed in the right direction. I'm not where I need to be, but thank God I'm not where I use to be. Let me know if I can be of help to you here on SP.
