The Radness That is Slappy
"The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times." - Paulo Coelho
Man... what a crazy past few years. So much life change happened and I was literally going through transition for a solid year, and thus let myself fall off the healthy lifestyle wagon.
In that time, I put on another 30+ pounds. But, the good news is I'm *finally* in a job I LOVE, my back is feeling great, and I'm back in Florida and thrilled to be here!

I've been trying to establish the habits that got me to lose weight in the first place - back when I was chain-smoking and busting out of a size 26, topping at 292 pounds. While I didn't "gain it all back and then some", I did go wild and fell into self-abusive habits that got me to that size in the first place.
Back to establishing good habits. Back to taking it one day at a time.
Here's to the future, and making the choice and commitment to take care of myself once again!
I LOVE to eat; I'm a total foodie. But now I eat clean, a lot of raw fruit and veggies, and a Paleo-style nutritional plan. Workouts include triathlon training, roller derby and yard work, just to name a few.
Pretty much went from fat to fabulous, from sedentary to beast mode. I've re-discovered the champion within and it's time for her to shine!

My Goals:
Lose the weight moderately and keep it off permanently! I want shapely curves, smooth, toned musculature and to feel great no matter what I''m wearing - or not wearing!
My Program:
Eating between 1200-1600 calories per day : LOTS of veggies and lean meats, fruit, complex carbs (whole grains, beans, wheat pasta and such) and I do NOT eat things that I don't like.
I allow myself to indulge in Sundays, but I do it in moderation. Keeps me sharp through the week!
Personal Information:
I'm presently recovering from a spinal injury, so getting back into the groove of things has been an everyday challenge. I've had to leave my former job, move out of my apartment and start my life in another part of the country.
It's been a HUGE blessing to me, because I've got an incredible opportunity to start the most exciting part of my life!
Keeping perspective, staying active, sticking to a schedule and putting myself first are what get me by!
I'm glad to be living in Florida and I'm looking forward to see how prosperous I will be :)
Other Information:
Favorite movie: The Princess Bride
Favorite book: The Alchemist (by Paolo Coelho)
Current music obsession: My night mix! Lots of rock, back in the day classics, dance music and some girly stuff!
