PAGE UPDATE 12/30/16
I spent the first half of 2016 losing 35 pounds and the second half gaining most of it back. I haven't gotten on a scale in MONTHS - but judging by what I've been eating and drinking, and how my clothes fit - I'd see I've gained at least 30 back. But we shall see when I get on the scale the first of the year.
I plan to make 2017 a HEALTHY and HAPPY year. The best year ever!!!

I spent most of 2015 fighting breast cancer, so I was off of this site for much of the year. It was a tough year and on July 6th, I had an adverse reaction to one of the chemo drugs they gave me and I briefly died on my kitchen floor. But it clearly wasn't my time to go - cuz I'm still here. I did 5 months of chemo and 2 months of radiation - but I'm done now and ready to get back in shape!!
Over the past couple years I managed to regain about 35 pounds of the 60 I'd taken off in '09-'10. Now it's time to take the weight back off, appreciate what it feels like to actually feel really good, and spend the rest of my life LIVING!!
SparkPeople has always been a big help with healthy living and I'm counting on it again this time!!
Life is good!!

In 2011 my husband and I both lost jobs that we'd had for years within days of each other. It was a crushing blow....but we landed on our feet. And perhaps the experience changed our priorities forever.
My husband and I have seen our daughter graduate college and meet the man of her dream - and then marry him last August. We have made progress learning how to deal with our adult son who has bipolar disorder without getting sucked into his drama also to except that some things are not going to change
I have learned that job is exactly that----a job - NOT a life!!
AND - have learned that if you quit caring about your health and settle back into old ways - you will end up feeling like you did 5 years ago!!
And if all that is not enough - I have now entered a new place in this journey - have recently been diagnosed with a very rare lymphoma.
SO - there is no time like the present to get back on track and get serious about my health.

My Goals:
Goals for 2013
1) Lose 5# in January. 2) Exercise 40 minutes a minimum of 5 days a week.
3) Track food AND fitness every day.

My Program:
Keeping track of every single thing that I put in my mouth.
Strenght train (3) days a week.
Cardio minimum 40 minutes a day - (5) days a week.
Do something active every day.
