For once in my life I have an answer for that one ... but only if you were pushing a shopping cart the whole time. Last year, I spent several hours shopping for Christmas gifts and craft materials. I walked so much that my feet and legs ached. My FitBit only logged about half of the steps. I also do all my walking outside, using a walker. The same thing happened. Finally, when I went to the mall with my daughter, her FitBit logged around 9,000 steps and mine logged 4,500 steps. With the exception of her trying on clothes and me just sitting, we traveled the same distance. I learned how to add additional exercise on my app. I was pushing my walker as we walked and my FitBit, being on my wrist, didn't register the movement. I can either move the FitBit's location or I can add enough extra exercise to equal an equivalent number of steps. I did this by adding an addional percent of my hourly total. Example, if I walked for 90 minutes, I would use the same pace and add 20-30 extra minutes. You can play with it a bit and see what would be the most accurate amount. 554 days ago
