I'm a 42 year old wife and mother of three wonderful children. I have been struggling with my weight since 2010 when I had an accident. I suffer from neuropathy pain, weakness/numbness in legs and feet, arthritis (all over), high blood pressure, angina, PTSD w/anxiety (from assault where I was shot), fatty liver, severe fatigue from vitamin deficiencies (even though I have prescribed supplements), reflux, hiatal hernia, and hormone issues. I've had two back surgeries in the past few years. Since the last back surgery I have trouble getting around and walk with a cane falling frequently. Due to falls I've had a lot of injuries which unfortunately resulted in my having surgery recently on my knee and arm. I was always a size 2 to 4 up until I had a hysterectomy and then I started having trouble maintaining my girlish figure so I slowly was in a size 8. After the accident they started me on a lot of medications, steroid injections, and coupled with being a lot less active because of pain took a toll on my body. Over the last six years I have steadily gained weight (which fought with diet) and now find myself in a size 18. I don't know the person I see in the mirror, am very embarrassed with the way I look, and feel like I've let my family down. With new health issues looming I know what I have been doing isn't working and refuse to gain any more weight or I'm afraid the slim, healthy me that is trapped inside is going to be lost forever, so I need to try something different.
