I want to grow old with my husband and have fun and be active the whole time. He has been a great motivator for me to get in shape.

I am in maintenance. It's not the goal weight that I set at the beginning of the journey, but it is what I can maintain and feel healthy. When I started, I didn't think I'd be working with a trainer 3 days/week as long as I have (18 months as of writing.) I look great. I am incredibly strong. I'm out of pain most days. If I manage to lose a few more pounds, I'm fine with that. I'm no longer stressing it. My trainer keeps telling me that I'm in the healthy range for body fat/lean muscle mass and I'm getting close to the athletic range. I can't argue with that. My new goal is to be competitive in the NJ State Triathlon in July 2017. Not sure I'll make it given my injuries, but I'm trying. Stay tuned, Sparkers. (May 2017)

I am close to my goal weight. I have recovered from a debilitating back injury and now I am stronger and more fit than I ever was. However, the pain of that injury and the many, many months of working with a physical therapist, physical trainer and registered dietitian has taught me a strong lesson in not ignoring pain and taking care of the body that I am blessed to have. I will never again take for granted my ability to walk. (Sept. 2016)

Alas, I have fallen prey to the perils of arthritis and back injury. This has resulted in more than a year of reduced activity for me and significant weight gain. I am very frustrated and scared of a lifetime of obesity and pain. So I am embarking on a commitment to intense physical therapy and training coupled with nutrition counseling to lose the weight that is making my pain worse. My husband is right by my side doing whatever he can to make this work. I am counting on my spark friends to be there, too. There is no place like SparkPeople for support and motivation. We live on an incredible planet. It is full of magic and beauty and has the ability to take our breath away... literally. This planet we call Earth is my home. It is your home. It belongs to all of us. How amazing that we get to live in such an awe-inspiring place. Just please remember, when you come into our home, would you be so kind as to be on your best behaviour, put the trash where it belongs, turn the water and lights off when you're done, and for heaven's sake, wipe your feet...

It is a day to think of the environmental challenges we face and how to solve them. Protecting Earth is every person’s and every country’s responsibility...
Earth Day is the largest, most widely celebrated international environmental event."

Run Boston? not I. :) I just followed it like it was my job. :-) Part of me really wanted to be running, but I was glad I wasn't... too hot!

Wow, Korir really is amazing!!! He was "praying and singing" most of the time, he says. I hear the praying, but singing, really?! It is AMAZING to see them come through at their 5 min pace - it totally blows my mind!

Thanks for encouraging me to read more - it's just so crazy.

Thank you for the wonderful comments to my April 15 & 16th blogs. We do need to stay united in the LORD. HE is our power source. We are in a battle stance with the devil all the time. Ephesians 6 gives us instructions for the battle. We will win over this flesh. We will get healthier and slimmer. The LORD is our commander and chief. HE will guide us. Our body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost. The devil would like nothing better than to influence us to destroy it. If God be for us who can be against us? Romans 8:31 Amen!
