I want to grow old with my husband and have fun and be active the whole time. He has been a great motivator for me to get in shape.

I am in maintenance. It's not the goal weight that I set at the beginning of the journey, but it is what I can maintain and feel healthy. When I started, I didn't think I'd be working with a trainer 3 days/week as long as I have (18 months as of writing.) I look great. I am incredibly strong. I'm out of pain most days. If I manage to lose a few more pounds, I'm fine with that. I'm no longer stressing it. My trainer keeps telling me that I'm in the healthy range for body fat/lean muscle mass and I'm getting close to the athletic range. I can't argue with that. My new goal is to be competitive in the NJ State Triathlon in July 2017. Not sure I'll make it given my injuries, but I'm trying. Stay tuned, Sparkers. (May 2017)

I am close to my goal weight. I have recovered from a debilitating back injury and now I am stronger and more fit than I ever was. However, the pain of that injury and the many, many months of working with a physical therapist, physical trainer and registered dietitian has taught me a strong lesson in not ignoring pain and taking care of the body that I am blessed to have. I will never again take for granted my ability to walk. (Sept. 2016)

Alas, I have fallen prey to the perils of arthritis and back injury. This has resulted in more than a year of reduced activity for me and significant weight gain. I am very frustrated and scared of a lifetime of obesity and pain. So I am embarking on a commitment to intense physical therapy and training coupled with nutrition counseling to lose the weight that is making my pain worse. My husband is right by my side doing whatever he can to make this work. I am counting on my spark friends to be there, too. There is no place like SparkPeople for support and motivation. Thanks for the idea.

I get GERD, too, so it's just a delight getting to sleep these days. Mainly, I try to tucker myself out with exercise. :)

Thanks Laura for your comment on my blog today. I was (and still am a little) an emotional wreck about it. But I will take this process VERY slowly. It is what is best for me all around. It will be a challenge to change things up, but I am up to that challenge. With friends like you, I know "I got this". Thanks so much!!!

I am glad it reminded you. I have always known my body was the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT, but I just didn't let it click in respect of my health and weight. This time when I decided to turn this part of my life over to the LORD and I ask for guidance from HIS Word. II Corintians 6:19 came to mind at that time. I looked it up and ask the LORD to help me to always remember in everyway that my body is the temple of the HOLY GHOST. Whenever I am tempted, I recall this verse and pull myself into subjection. Realizing this has been one of the keys to my success. I really want to please and honor the LORD. We are in a battle every single day with the devil tempting our flesh. I know I have to stay on top of everything. God provides me the strength to succeed each day.

Thanks for asking about the lawn. It's doing great, but already it's time for another haircut. Ha, ha, ha!
I'll have to do that sometime today, but right now I've got to find a GOOD, reasonably priced plumber. Do you know anyone who fits that description in this area?
