I want to grow old with my husband and have fun and be active the whole time. He has been a great motivator for me to get in shape.

I am in maintenance. It's not the goal weight that I set at the beginning of the journey, but it is what I can maintain and feel healthy. When I started, I didn't think I'd be working with a trainer 3 days/week as long as I have (18 months as of writing.) I look great. I am incredibly strong. I'm out of pain most days. If I manage to lose a few more pounds, I'm fine with that. I'm no longer stressing it. My trainer keeps telling me that I'm in the healthy range for body fat/lean muscle mass and I'm getting close to the athletic range. I can't argue with that. My new goal is to be competitive in the NJ State Triathlon in July 2017. Not sure I'll make it given my injuries, but I'm trying. Stay tuned, Sparkers. (May 2017)

I am close to my goal weight. I have recovered from a debilitating back injury and now I am stronger and more fit than I ever was. However, the pain of that injury and the many, many months of working with a physical therapist, physical trainer and registered dietitian has taught me a strong lesson in not ignoring pain and taking care of the body that I am blessed to have. I will never again take for granted my ability to walk. (Sept. 2016)

Alas, I have fallen prey to the perils of arthritis and back injury. This has resulted in more than a year of reduced activity for me and significant weight gain. I am very frustrated and scared of a lifetime of obesity and pain. So I am embarking on a commitment to intense physical therapy and training coupled with nutrition counseling to lose the weight that is making my pain worse. My husband is right by my side doing whatever he can to make this work. I am counting on my spark friends to be there, too. There is no place like SparkPeople for support and motivation. I am praying God will help you each day with your meal planning, help you stick with each daily goal, and to do some type of physical exercise. I pray for your physical and spiritual health.     Ok, ok. Can I have another week to decide? I did some biking at the gym last night, but I was astounded to see that it took me 40 minutes to go 8+ miles. Could that really be the case, or was it because I had near continuous rolling resistance? How long does a sprint tri usually take an average person to complete?

    I am planning on swimming this weekend with a friend. This should give me the opportunity to see if I drown or not :) and to see how long 750m takes me (if I can even go that far!)

    But I am seriously considering it... I need something to fuel my workouts!

    Yes, I want my sugar and creamer too. But on Weight Watchers, I have to count one point for every cup, and that adds up. I have my two cups in the morning, but some afternoons I want more coffee and I don't like using up 4 points in a day on coffee, that's practically a meal! So far I am unsuccessful switching to black in the afternoon. Yes, I like herbal teas too, but sometimes you just want COFFEE! Or black tea! :)
