I want to grow old with my husband and have fun and be active the whole time. He has been a great motivator for me to get in shape.

I am in maintenance. It's not the goal weight that I set at the beginning of the journey, but it is what I can maintain and feel healthy. When I started, I didn't think I'd be working with a trainer 3 days/week as long as I have (18 months as of writing.) I look great. I am incredibly strong. I'm out of pain most days. If I manage to lose a few more pounds, I'm fine with that. I'm no longer stressing it. My trainer keeps telling me that I'm in the healthy range for body fat/lean muscle mass and I'm getting close to the athletic range. I can't argue with that. My new goal is to be competitive in the NJ State Triathlon in July 2017. Not sure I'll make it given my injuries, but I'm trying. Stay tuned, Sparkers. (May 2017)

I am close to my goal weight. I have recovered from a debilitating back injury and now I am stronger and more fit than I ever was. However, the pain of that injury and the many, many months of working with a physical therapist, physical trainer and registered dietitian has taught me a strong lesson in not ignoring pain and taking care of the body that I am blessed to have. I will never again take for granted my ability to walk. (Sept. 2016)

Alas, I have fallen prey to the perils of arthritis and back injury. This has resulted in more than a year of reduced activity for me and significant weight gain. I am very frustrated and scared of a lifetime of obesity and pain. So I am embarking on a commitment to intense physical therapy and training coupled with nutrition counseling to lose the weight that is making my pain worse. My husband is right by my side doing whatever he can to make this work. I am counting on my spark friends to be there, too. There is no place like SparkPeople for support and motivation. Thank you so much for the blog comment. Its very nice of you to think of me as organized. Organization is something I generally have to work on. I'm no hoarder but I'm not a natural at it like my husband is. Everyday I just keep trying and that is all we can do!

    Have a great week!

Good for you on 45-60 minutes of run! I bet Hub will also get tired of the instructions, but like you say, it's a great jump start.

The blister pad box has instructions on it. I can't remember if I've lanced them before or not. Good luck!

Nice to see that you kept making progress during the plateau. Maybe it was just a low-grade downhill. :D

I know what you mean about exercise making a huge difference beyond the scale. I'm still in the 190s, but this is the "thinnest" 190s I've been at -- at least, since I was on the way up. That's why I think my goal weight is probably about right -- I was not at my thinnest at 140, but I think with the running and other activity that it'll be a good weight for me now.
