Introduction Text My name is Teresa and I teach computers to 200 students ages 4-10 in rural SW Virginia. I am 46 years old and have had a weight problem all my life. In 1997 I had a gastric bypass and lost 160 pounds (I started out at 330!!!) In June of 2005 I was involved in a near fatal car accident and reverted back to my "comfort" foods. I've gained 80 of those pounds back. I still can't eat very much at one time but I tend to eat a lot of carbs!. Well, we are now married!!! There have been so many things that have happened in the last couple of months. First, Ashley's mom, who has Parkinson's Disease, was put in a nursing home. Then on April 15th, we thought my mom had a stroke. She was in the hospital until the 22nd...just 3 days before the wedding. We got married on the 25th and on May 4th, my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. It has been such an emotional roller coaster in the last few weeks. I know that my faith in God will see me through and give me the strength to do what needs to be done in the next year. My mom is now in a rehab center for physical/occupational therapy. After 20 radiation treatments she was so weak she couldn't even stand. It has only been 3 days....no improvement yet.

To get my eating under control and exercise more.

The main things I'm doing to lose the weight are watching my calories, trying to exercise more and drinking TONS of water.

I live in a very small town not too far from Roanoke Virginia. I got engaged last year and we have set our wedding date as April 25, 2009.

I am an avid reader...I read anything by Patricia Cornwell, I LOVE the Harry Potter books, I also like to read paranormal romances and anything about time travel! Right now I am reading "When Ghosts Speak" by the consultant on Ghost Whisperer, Dewey, the Library Cat, Home by Julie Andrews, and several YA books. I am always reading several books at a time!!
