One of the most important tips is to never eat any carbs without protein - even with a snack.

Another is to space your carbs out over the day - don't eat too many at one time.

Never eat 2 starches in one meal - like bread and peas or beans and potatoes.

The less sugar and processed foods I eat the better I feel, the more weight I lose, and the better my BP and other chronic conditions are.

I don't follow SP recommendations or Facebook. They are social media sites. They don't employ endocrinologists. I'm a nurse and I have had hypoglycemia since I was in my late 30s. I don't want diabetes so my goal has been to prevent that and I have. I no longer am pre-diabetic but still consider myself as such as I would be if I ate the standard American diet. My physician determined that to reach that I would have to eat 125 net gms or less of carbs a day. I have helped motivated diabetics on sparkpeople to no longer be diabetic.

Thanks for the goodie Nancy. I am doing pretty good and just trying to get back to a regular routine and staying out of Dr. offices. I get one thing fixed and something else comes up and adjusting to again. Also the Covid has not been a fun life for anyone—staying in does a mental job on most. Glad you are going strong.
