Yeah, the decision has been made. I even told the runner's group and they are excited to "train" me. I think the fact that my family will be there is going to make it that much more exciting to me!
This is a crazy idea, but doing it together will make it a success. I don't think I could run my first marathon on my own.
As for training plans, I'll get you my more detailed calendar soon, but for running, I will only be running 3 days a week, a 3-mile run to start, the second run a 4-5 mile run, and then the long run on Saturdays. Halfway through I plan on up the mileage on those first two runs. I just don't want to burn out either. I am doing the same thing to train for the Fargo Half Marathon.
I am definitely running that race, and let me tell you that the support for that race is amazing, and you would not regret running that one EVER. If this is something you are thinking of, I can get us a hotel room, and it's no problem if you can't go, but at least we'd have the hotel (they book December usually...it's crazy, and I am not sure we would want to stay in the dorms, though we could!). I think it would be flipping awesome to have other girls run the Fargo half, too :o} You could carpool with Paula!! We'll have to see what she thinks too. 3391 days ago
