I'm tired of being fat. I'm tired of feeling unwell and unattractive and I very, very tired of being tired. Enough is enough, it's time to change something.

My Goals:
I need to get my back strong. Although it's just recently been cleared as 100% recovered (as of Feb. 19, 2009), it doesn't really feel that way. The docs tell me, it's healthy just weak. (ahhh... what the heck has the physiotherapist being doing to me for 2 years then?)

So I need to shore up that back, because if it gets injured again, I'll sob for 2 days straight.

Next, I need to get fit. Being forced to be so sedentary for the last 2 years AND being a smoker (quitting though), has left me winded embarrassingly easily.

And finally, but not last, I need to lose 71lbs.


My Program:
Well, I'm working with a personal trainer at my gym and she is also a certified nutritionist, so she has me on an eating program too.

The menu seems like a high protein/ low fat kinda thing where I'm supposed to eat 5 to 6 times a day. (It's eating so often that is the hardest part.)

The exercise program is weight training 3X a week. On the weight training days, I still do 20 min of cardio on a recumbent exercise bike. (We figure, at the moment, this is the safest form for my back.)

On off days, I do 30 min of cardio on the recumbent bike.



Personal Information:
I'm an animal person.
Two Siameses - one classic Seal point (Somjai) and one Snowshoe seal point (Kanita). (This will make sense only to other Siamese lovers)

And one black Great Dane suck (Diesel).


Other Information:
MY PANTS are looser! But I haven't lost any weight yet, according to the scale but with all the weight training, it might take a couple of weeks for my body to show weight loss. My pants are looser though - MUCH!

    Hey TRAC_CAN I come across your sparkpage totally by accident and I must admit my eyes nearly popped out of my head. emoticon Your profile image is what did it those beautiful cats my heart sunk at first as it reminded me of my Samantha a Seal Point Siamese I had and had to give up when I lived on campus at college.

    I tried so very hard to get my girlfriend (a cat lover) to keep her for me while I attended college. I even was willing to set it up that I would send her a check weekly for her upkeep i.e. food, trips to the vet., litter etc. along with this commitment I was willing to even pay her board for keeping her. My dream was crushed as she was afraid to take on the responsibility of housing my pet for two years, as she felt if it ran out of her home and got struck by a car or wandered off that I would hold her in blame.

    No one wanted her so my other friend convinced me to give her to the pound and they would find her a good home. That day I sat at the top of the stair case of my friends home with Samantha embraced in my arm rocking back and forth and crying like a two year old. I did give her to the pound and while attending college my friend told me a woman adopted her and within a few days brought her to the pound stating the cat attacked her.
    She never gave the animal time to adjust and she put food out for it and when she called for the cat to come and eat it did not so she reached to pull the cat out of its safe place and naturally if startled and swiped at her she labeled it as vicious and took it back to the pound where after a few weeks they euthanized her. My sister got me a stuffed Seal Point Siamese to full my void and to date I have it and it sits on my bed. She was euthanized in the year 1995.

    Now for the stage you are not going to believe this the same print of fabric that is on the chair/sofa/loveseat on which your siamese cats are is the very same pattern I have on my sofa and loveseat in my apartment right now. I miss my Samantha and would love to get another Siamese, but my apartment charges an additional $25.00 every month to have a cat or dog which is insane considering all the money it costs to buy food, litter, toys and maintain their health via vet. appointments.

    I am from New Jersey where do you and your beautiful cats live?

    I love your kitties and dog pics. I am in the same boat, my clothes feel looser, and I feel thinner, but the scale hasn't moved in 2-3 weeks. They say muscle weighs more than fat, but I personally don't want to look like a body builder. Take care and good luck. Deb

    Thanks for giving me some hints about getting enough Protein in my diet, I appreciate that very much! I will use your suggestions to help myself along the way. I can't believe how little protein I've been eating!
