Something to help keep me motivated (that isn't food-based). Hubby doesn't know he's on the list!

(Is "vegetarianism" even a real word?)

Hello, and welcome!
Hubby and I have decided to become vegetarian. He suffers from gout, and this was a welcome option to keep better control on the purines going into his body. I think I'm a bit more of a flexitarian, but I do my best to support him in his lifestyle change.

While I will be bypassing a lot of standard meats, I plan to continue eating eggs, and I might also keep some white fish in my regular diet. Once in a while I turn to chicken-based dishes if we're out somewhere that doesn't have a decent vegetarian option (or I would be eating something like a giant bowl of pasta instead.)

I plan to make Weigh-In-Wednesday a thing again, as I find it helps give me something to look forward to in the middle of the week.

As of January 1, 2019, I have gone Candy Sober, and given up eating candy.

My Goals:
Lose weight, becoming leaner and stronger. I don't really have a number in mind, as it's not the goal, it's how I'm going to get there.
Candy Sober: I am giving up candy. This has been a bit hard to define, as I want to reduce my sugar intake as a whole, but anything that might be considered candy is out. It's been a long-term addiction to sweets, and I hope to be strong on this one.

My Program:
After getting a Nintendo Switch for Christmas, I am enthralled by the Fitness Boxing program. I hope to be tuning in every day before work to do a short workout (25-30 minutes) and maybe a free-style song or two on the weekend (15-20 minutes). So far I'm really enjoying it, which is pretty key for me.

Personal Information:
My name is Meg, and I am cutting out meat. My husband and I live in northern Alberta, Canada, with our cheesy cat, Monterey Jack.

Other Information:
I love dogs, especially Siberian Huskies and Corgis. I have had three Siberians in the past, and really struggled after we put down my Good Boy this summer. He was a big motivator for me to get out and be active. Hubby and I struggled for a long time about getting another dog, but I am still struggling with my most recent loss. With the addition of a cat to the household, huskies are not really a good match for us anymore. Corgis are my second favourite, but we're not in a rush to be making even more changes in our lives right now.
