Introduction Text Hey ... I decided to update this introduction thing! Why? Because I am a recovered anorexic (um, basically -- am having a bit of a struggle right now but I WILL get on top of this) and I AM a recovered bulimic !! I have not binge/purged for a YEAR now !! I am so excited and happy about this -- really, it has been a journey ! So ... I am just a girl, trying to live her life ... I have a mother with terminal cancer (just diagnosed) which is obviously a tremendous sorrow ... I am a musician -- I teach underprivileged kids in this special program which is so rewarding ! I am taking social work courses ... so ........ that's me right now. Thanks for visiting ! I have health/exercise resolutions for this year ... but I am always active so .... not too hard! xo

1. Follow a sensible meal plan (I think 1800 calories is reasonable) 2. Eat healthy foods (with occassional indulgences allowed -- I mean really, who can say no to cheese cake for the rest of their lives? 3. Limit the binging and purging. I would love to say "STOP ENTIRELY" but in this stage of my life, I have learned it is not quite possible. 4. Add in more exercise. I think I'll join a gym in January. 5. Try to get out and socialize more because my depression can easily keep me from doing the things I enjoy!

Well, I see my psychiatrist regularly -- she's great and a wonderful motivator. I am keeeping only healthy foods around me and not "binge-worthy" foods. AND I bought myself a new pair of running shoes. So once that snow clears, watch out world! lol

I am from Vancouver, BC -- Canada. I lived in Rome, Italy for a few years and have only been back here for about 5 months now. I needed to shake up my life a little and Rome (and other European destinations) was definately the place to do it!

I love to read and consequently have many favourite books. Anything by JM Coetzee, Rohinton Mistry, Virginia Woolf, Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez .... and the list continues !!
