I try to keep my page updated. If I haven't updated in a while, feel free to Sparkmail me and ask me to update!

Most recent update = October 18th, 2020

I had a VSG - vertical sleeve gastrectomy - better known as a gastric sleeve on June 24th 2020. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager and I am now 50. I am tired of it. I lost over 100 pounds in 2016, kept most of it off but simply had not been able to lose any more. I needed a tool that will help me do this. Please, for those that have not followed me in this, do not think "this was the easy way" it ain't even close to easy. But it is a beautiful tool with which to reach my goals and stay there!

Highest Weight (HW) 435 - BMI Feb 1st 2016 = 68.1 super-super-morbidly obese
Surgery Weight (SW) 352 lbs - BMI June 24th 2020 = 55.1 super morbidly obese
pivotal moment - 314 lbs - BMI August 23rd 2020 = 49 morbidly obese or class 3 obesity
pivotal moment - 299lbs - BMI Sept = 46.8 class II obesity- finally under 300
CURRENT WEIGHT (CW) 296 lbs - BMI October 18th 2020 = 46.4 morbidly obese or class 3 obesity

pivotal moment goal ...255lbs - BMI DATE ??? = 39.9 = class II obesity (severe obese)
pivotal moment goal...223lbs - BMI DATE ??? = 34.9 = class 1 obesity (obese)
pivotal moment goal...191lbs - BMI DATE ??? = 29.9 = overweight
Goal Weight (GW) 159 lbs - BMI = DATE??? = 24.9 = normal weight

of course now they have changed the classifications of BMI, but that was how the classifications went when I started... this is current information

BMI Classification[16]
18.5 or less underweight
18.5–24.9 normal weight
25.0–29.9 overweight
30.0–34.9 class I obesity
35.0–39.9 class II obesity
40.0 or more class III obesity
The surgical literature breaks down class III obesity into further categories, though the exact values are still disputed.

A BMI above 35 is severe obesity
A BMI above 40 is morbid obesity
A BMI above 50 is super obese

My Goals:
I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. To be able to walk around in the stores. To be able to take care of myself without help. I want to LIVE

My Program:
I have to make sure I get protein before any other foods or I may not have room for the protein. But I am not "low-carb". It's just that protein has to come first since my VSG

Personal Information:
My real name is Kathy and I live in southern West Virginia with my Husband James.
we have no kids
I am a 1970 model - just like my husbands favorite car - his Chevelle!
I am 5'7"
I was 5'8" as a teenager! I lost an inch the wrong direction!!!!

    Happy Friday!

A Neutron walks into a bar, and asks the bartender, "How much for a beer?"
The bartender says, "For you? No charge".

    Why can't you trust atoms?
    Because they make up everything!

Why are chemists so good at solving problems?
Because they have all the solutions.

I enjoy telling chemistry jokes, but only periodically.

Where do light bulbs like to go shopping?
    At the outlet stores.

Thanks for stopping by to say Hi, leave a goodie, or leave a note! I love them all, and thank you for your encouragement and support.

    Enjoy your weekend.

We are our own unique star; each one of us is as different as a snowflake.
We must remember that together we shine amid the darkness of the night sky with a brilliant beauty that is there for those who take a moment to search for, reflect on, and appreciate it.
We are all “one of a kind wonderful”!
I hope you have a SPARKling, healthy, and happy week!!
