Hello,

I am a certified professional massage therapist who's just finished her schooling and is embarking on a career in wellness. I have also been overweight almost all of my life.

Now that I am 40, will be working in a field that not only requires physical strength, stamina, and well-being, but also in which I will be hoping to encourage it in others, I really want more out of life, and out of my body.

I think I'm a pretty great person, but I also think my weight has held me back from a lot in life. It's influenced what I thought I could do, what I thought was possible for me inter-personally, what I even thought I could realistically dream.

I don't want any more needless limitations.

I want to be the physically stable, strong, well, sexy woman that I feel I can be. I have finally come to a place in my life where I believe in the beauty of my spirit, and in my potential.

It's simply time to act on it.

I want more, that's all.

My Goals:
Achieve and maintain a normal weight.

Look and feel strong and healthy.

Discover my inner athlete.

Reduce my blood pressure without having to go on medication.


My Program:
Tracking foods faithfully.

Eating as cleanly as possible.

Eating 5+servings of vegetables and 2+ servings of fruit per day.

Starting a sensible exercise program and learning to push myself as time goes on.

Looking into the psychological and spiritual origins of my obesity and demolishing them.

    Hey, I am in your neck of the woods several times a week. Eponine got a part in a play at SteppingStone Theater, so I am sitting at Caribou on Grand from 6pm-8:30pm at least 3 nights a week. We could go walking . . . .

    Thanks for commenting on my blog. You are so right about how we make young girls feel about their weight! It's so sad. But I guess on the bright side, now I am VERY aware of how easily girls are damaged by other people's comments and by our culture's obsession with skinniness, and I can take care to nurture positive body image in any daughters or nieces I may have in the future. So at least there's that. :) Thanks again!

    HI!!!! I randomly saw you on someone else's page where you had commented and my courser was hovering over your picture and it pulled up your comment about being sick of salads. I am so with you....and your decision to go to the SP recipes won't go un rewarded. I think two of my favorite meals in there are Cheesy vegetable Stuffed eggplant (just fyi before my husband to be insisted I try the receipe, I HATED eggplant). It's wonderful! so filling and light on the calories. The other one on there that Mike requests frequently is Chicken Cordon Blue-California style. its' a chef meg make over, and boy howdy is it ever good.

    I love chef meg's stuff...I'm SOOO stoked she's got a good cook book coming out soon!
