Working on more protein today so that I don’t snack as much throughout the day and at night!Been struggling with my diet, but then I found this picture of the optic nerve in my right eye in my camera roll. The red means “abnormal.” It was swollen and bleeding and I almost went blind—in both eyes. Doctors think if I lose weight I won’t be as at risk for losing my vision as I was March-May. I HAVE to do this, and I CAN. I’m getting better and I want to STAY better. 💪🏻🙈🙈🙈Skin is clearing up— another plus side to eating healthier! Thank you, veggies and water!Got a paleo pancake mix and put a tablespoon of honey on them instead of syrup! yummy and lots of fiber and protein!Baked some chicken and had some yellow watermelon with it!It’s another day! Start over— you’ve got this.Went to the local cafeteria tonight and got broccoli, turnip greens, grilled onions, and tilapia. I’m 250 calories under my allowed amount today but I’m full and don’t eat past 7, so I’m hoping to see that reflected in my next weigh-in!Breakfast!No makeup and messy hair, but I got my kale smoothie for lunch!Went up a tiny bit today (haven’t recorded it yet) but I think it’s because I went too low in calories and started storing fat. I’m eating more calories (and from veggies!) tonight, and planning on walking 3 miles (6 if I can make it around my route twice)!Wanted a treat so I put some non dairy reddi whip made from almond milk on my protein shake for dinner... then said “heck, I’ve been good today. Let’s have some more reddi whip!” 12 tablespoons is only 60 calories, 6 carbs, and 3 grams of fat...not too bad!Just ate overnight oats... I think I’ll have swai and black beans again for dinner! You can’t see the full list in this photo, but I’m doing an Advent photo challenge to help motivate me!Ground turkey and pintos on the stove with some chili powder topped with cheese. I’m covering it till it melts and then letting eggs cook on top till the whites are cooked and yolks are runny.Happy to be home with my pup!Every New Year, we eat black eyed peas. The superstition is that you’ll have really good luck!Made this mood calendar yesterday!Coconut water has more electrolytes than Gatorade, but most brands are boiled down to a syrup and stretched out with water, changing the flavor, nutrient content, and color. The brand I buy, Harmless Coconut Water, has all the good stuff and naturally becomes pink!Posted a photoPosted a photoMy friend bought me these in West Africa because she knows I cook, so I can put my hot dishes on them! The one with the dots are made of bottle caps covered in traditional African fabrics and the other two are hand-woven!Posted a photoI’m making progress! I’m dropping weight quickly right now and I expect that to plateau a little at some point, but that’s okay! I’ve been cutting out foods that are known to cause inflammation in the body, so I’m feeling better physically and it’s starting to show! #BeforeAndAfterMy xymogen shake! Fills me up, gives me energy, tastes like chocolate... Great stuff! #foodisfuelPosted a photoToday is a fast day for the CoreLife challenge, but I already know what I’m eating when it’s time to break the fast 😂Made this dairy-free cream of vegetable soup last night. It has cauliflower, carrots, onions, and squash in it! I ate it for breakfast so I’ve already eaten 4 vegetables. The first one my hair was super unhealthy and my skin was super broken out and my jawline wasn’t really that visible. I’ve cut out foods that are known for causing inflammation and I’m feeling SO much better and it’s starting to show on my face! #BeforeAndAfterCame across this picture of me at 150, which is my goal weight. I’m so determined to get back there!I slept on the couch last night so my dog kept me company!Posted a photoThe little markers are good, too! The first picture was just a few days ago, and look at how I’ve gained color in my face, my skin has cleared up more, and the bags under my eyes aren’t as bad! I’m not where I wanted to be weight-wise but I’m still making progress and that’s good enough for me! #BeforeAndAfterMy fancy sugar free almond milk Mexican hot cocoaEnjoyed a beautiful bowl from CoreLife Eatery today!I would have bought those shoes if I hadn’t turned over a new leaf 😂#BeforeAndAfter making progress!Posted a photoI wish I had started tracking when I actually started dieting again so it could say I lost more than 12 pounds 😂 but I’m so happy! That’s a great decline and I’ve had PLENTY of ups and downs along the way, but looking at it like this helps me to realize how worth it ALL of the journey has been so far!Saw this recipe on instagram a few days ago and I’m making it today! It had a pretty brown sauce with it and I’m excited to try itI went off diet today buuuuut I somehow managed to stay in my ranges! It’s been a bad week but better times are ahead so in the words of Taylor Swift, it’s time to “step into the daylight and let it go.”I’ve been enjoying Boyd’s coffee over ice with almond milk every morning with Kakato (a mixture of stevia, monk fruit, and tagatose that I buy on Amazon). It’s a great swap for the sweet drinks I love!Feeling confident and happy! The weight came back up but it’s on its way back down, I’m feeling better, and I’m celebrating non-weight loss goals as I move toward becoming healthier! My friend made me a delicious latte at her house and taught me how to make them! Super good!My new essential oils came in! Not a lot of brands are safe to eat, but Revive is and it’s not a multi-level marketing company so it’s way cheaper. I like to put grapefruit oil in my water. It tastes nice and curbs my appetite!Boiled eggs with Texas Pete for breakfast!First attempt at an almond flour pie crust for a quiche... fingers crossed.
