What a difference some effort, dedication, and motivation can make. I remember the hike I took in the first photo- a touch over 1/4 mile uphill, huffing and puffing all the while. Stopping constantly, having to sit and catch my breath. Now I can conquer mountains with ease. I'm not yet where I want to be with my fitness level, but looking back at the progress I've made... it feels pretty amazing. My arms are no longer hams! I definitely still have some arm chub, but I'm getting some definition! Strength training is paying off!
I'm also down to a size 1XL (XL in a few cases!) For me, mountains seem to make everything better. The natural beauty, the hours spent on the trails, the views from the top. Being without cell signal, internet, or stress. It's like a "reset" button for me. Hopefully I'll be back on the trails soon. I could definitely use it right now.My period bloat has gone down... leaving this chickadee at 250lbs on the dot! Watch out 240's! I'm coming for you!!! 17 lbs are GONE and I'm down two and a half sizes. I'm feeling pretty good! It's been a long journey on so many levels, but at long last I feel like I'm making some significant progress. 7% of my body weight is gone!
Today I'm doing The First Great Purge of 2017. I'm emptying my closet and my dressers. Everything is to be tried on. If it's too big or it doesn't bring me joy... it's outta here! Seasoned with garlic, black pepper, soy sauce, and hot chili oil.Hopefully this will help me remember to take my medicines and vitamins.I treated myself yesterday! I bought some new nail polish, went out for a scoop of vegan ice cream, and went to a massive dance party (I had to pay $20 for admission. Being low-income, that was a HUGE splurge, but totally worth it!) I spent the night dancing like crazy. I burned a ton of calories and had such a blast with my fiance and our friend! It's been a long road, and some days it feels like I haven't made any progress. But looking back... I've come so far on so many levels. I am stronger and fitter than ever, and I went from a size 22 to a size 16 in a little over a year! Wow! My closet feels so empty without all my 2XL+ clothing! It's such a relief to be rid of it all...Down 19.6lbs now! Hoping to hit the 20lb mark very soon! It's shaping up to be a good morning! I'm down 20.4lbs! Also, my only pair of shorts is too big for me now. Looks like I'll be wearing skirts and dresses until I can get to the thrift store...Same shirt, different day! So proud of my progress. #ssddI'm celebrating my SWEET 16 with a trip to the thrift store and some (much-needed) dresses for work! I'm phasing out all of my size 18's and 1XL's.
