Two weeks in: My Clothes are beginning to fit better!
Lemon and ginger in my water. Tastes good and the ginger helps with arthritis pain
Quiet night at home...made a healthy dinner: red cabbage pork tenderloin and new potatoes. Get my sleep. Keep the home fire burning.
Made pumpkin soup for the first time ever. If you like potato soup this will please your taste buds.
Made cuban pork and rice (spark recipes). Ok, it doesn't call for cheese on top, but i replaced the artichoke hearts with broccoli. Hubby liked it too (didn't tell him about the broccoli 😁). YUM
She doesn't eat unless we walk. SMART DOG!

Do you ever walk into a store where the Christmas trees are on display and you think.." Yeah, I'll take that one just like that". That's me! But then you remember that your house is itty bitty..😊

Dear Santa,
Please don't be disappointed,
but I don't think all those cookies are good for you. You see, the kiddos took a real liking to you and we want you to be around next year and the years to come!
Famous failures...I like the one about Albert Einstein!
Got this in the mail yesterday! Looks soooooo good right now!
Time to get back on the wagon! What it must have meant back then! Survival? A goal? A dream? I love the old west..our ancestors went through some tough times and we can, too!
See, already over the hill!
This is my "oma" bike. Had so much fun taking my granddaughter (and her friends) around the neighborhood! But those 7-8 year olds left me in the dust! Training for next summer! Too bad there aren't many cool videos with some good music on u-tube!

No words..
Seeing a lot of newbies here! Great and welcome!
Saw this a couple of weeks ago. Made an impact on me!
Not too many funnies tonight...
That's what happens...

Got another seed catalog in the mail today! That's it, I've had enough..
Congratulations Oprah! Her speech almost made me cry!
(Below is a list of famous failures). Look who didn't give up
So today we had freezing rain, my one day off, got to work all weekend, organized my junk drawer did laundry and dishes, made sweet /sour chicken thighs with roasted potatoes, but soon....
8 cups! Got this pitcher at amazon. The center tube can be filled with whatever flavor you like. Here are lemons and ginger. I like that things don't float around in it.
Note to self...

Did 50 dumbbell crunches☺🙌👍
Tomato soup (from Spark recipes), homemade croutons from some old bread, and fresh basil. For the Leftovers, I'll throw in some shrimp. Yum!
So it's gonna be The Patriots and Eagles for the Superbowl! I know everybody is tired of the Pats winning, but I think they will do it again! I bet 50 crunches on New England! Anybody in?
I am bummed out. Went to work, got a double "yolk" when I opened my earplugs and then I tripped over a pallet and broke my arm. The good one ! I can't do anything !
You are what you....
Proud of this: cooked it one handed!
Made a healthy snack: My DH traded some old bike parts for this machine. He scrubbed it spotless, replaced a few parts and we now have fresh popcorn for half the neighborhood kid's movie night!
My breakfast #eattherainbow
So I used to have chicken in my backyard, but last year some animal got them one by one. I am picky about eggs and bought these at the local health food store. The story is so cute; the dog had pups and she dresses them up...lol
Happy Groundhog day!
I was so scared to go into surgery yesterday! Seriously I thought about local anesthesia, but there they convinced me to take the "full monty", with screws deep into bone involved. So today I want to apologize for my bad anesthesia meme a while back, be grateful for doctors and nurses, my family and my friends. And...
For anyone with limited mobility or arthritis: this little gadget actually does work for opening most cans! It takes 4 aa batteries. Just set it on top, and push the button! #icandothis
Cabbage soup: got the inspiration from a certain chic, the main recipe from budget bites, added some brown rice, and my neighbor cut up the onion for me😊I liked it!
Happy Valentine's day! It was actually my dad's name! We lost him due to a heart attack! So today my goal is to make a donation to the American Heart Association!
Green tea: good for your adrenal glands! Natural steroid💪. A friend of ours brought me some back from his vacation. All I had done was give him a jar of my salsa😉
Gave my Roses, my DH got me, a bath! If you soak them in lukewarm water for about 30 min and cut off ca 1 inch, they will last longer!
Every day is a new beginning: take a deep breath, smile and start all over again!
I've been eating breakfast in the cafeteria all last week. Every day I asked for some kind of veggie with my eggs. The answers I got were: "we don't have enough spinach, or we don't do veggies with breakfast!" - that's gonna change next week!
Gonna try this tonight: ...good night friends!

Read a blog a few days ago about the benefits of sourdough bread (good for your gut). So here is my latest science project. Feeding it every day😀
18 oz on the way to work, 12 oz at 1. Break, 18 oz at lunch and 18 oz on the way home =66 oz or 8 cups!
Don't forget to "spring forward" your clocks tonight!
It was a busy weekend here! My GD is the best chicken picker! Now we have Goldie, Trixie, Rosie, Sprinkles and Olivia! 6 months and we should have some delicious eggs!
Sometimes we forget to simply say "thank you" for the food in our belly, the roof over our head, the clean water we have to drink, the people and animals around us and our body
"The deal was till February! I want my carrot back now!" Happy Monday!
It's been hard 60 days, since I broke this "guy". Honestly, I think I could have had another kid by now. Will I ever get full mobility back, I don't know. I can lift 1 lb now. But today I was grateful I could brush my teeth with it and I can write my name!
This describes me right now😊
Happy Easter everyone!
Today is my GD' first holy communion, in German aka as "Weisser Sonntag, or white Sunday". Mother nature added her own white. Lol
I think the Easter bunny did it
I've had the pleasure of knowing and being the patient of some wonderful nurses... this is for you. All your hard work and kindness is appreciated!!
Made a big bowl of this coleslaw. I added some kale slaw mix to give it some extra crunchy. Goes well with pulled pork (in the crockpot). We can munch on that for a couple days=no cooking! Win-win!
It's been sooo dry here, but finally we got some much needed beneficial rain for the crops, gardens and trees. I was happy to see it. But, sorry Florida..
This year I added my herbs to the flower pots! Fresh parsley with geraniums, basil with petunias and cilantro with marigolds😀
Heat index 101°!!! Not ready yet! C'mon, we had snow on easter!! But can't change the weather! So tonight just pasta salad, vinegraite and cold ham sandwich on rye
My sister starts treatment for skin cancer on her EYELID this week! Who would think? Please wear a hat, sunglasses, sunblock! And say a little prayer for her! Thank you
Ventured out of my comfort zone and made this couscous salad for dinner. It has all the different colors of bell peppers, mango, onions and cherry tomatoes in it. I liked it and we can have leftovers again tomorrow. Maybe just a rotisserie chicken..
Update: my sister is recovering well from her surgeries (she had white skin cancer on her eye lid). Thank you for your prayers! Please don't be that guy in the picture! Wear a hat, sunblock sunglasses and don't forget lather up your kids.
All the beautiful fruit at this time is just to be appreciated! Strawberries, blueberries, grapes, peaches and a can of pineapple chunks in juice. Vitamins!
Happy 4th of July!
My daughter asked me to pray for a friend's "baby". She's about 15 months old, and started falling a lot last week. They did an MRI and found a brain tumor. Several surgeries needed. Possibly cancer. I believe in the power of prayer! Please help!
Eating parsley can help reduce the risk of certain cancers; also a good anti inflammatory! And the monarch babies like it, too😊
Did you ever get a hotel room, because you were dog tired of driving, but wish you had seen that sign before you checked in?
Don't throw this in the trash after the feast is over! It makes a delicious soup or broth for the rest of the winter! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
