day 14 of my streak for "Log in to SparkPeople every day" earned 11/24/2018day 25 of my streak for "Log in to SparkPeople every day" earned 12/5/2018And to all a good night! :-)I love Peeps. Not to eat, but to play with. I enjoy photos of what people do with their Peeps. You all enjoy this one, too! :-)I received this at 10:45 this morning. Bragging a bit... ;-)My other little bit for Earth Day (The first little bit was mowing with a reel mower. Wish we didn't have to mow at all, but there it is. Still, no gas, no oil, no emissions, at least. The butterflies and bees still fly in the yard!)I promised a few photos from our trip; here's the double rainbow we saw the first evening, after a nice, calm rain.OK. Last one, at least for a while. I don't want to take up too much off-topic space. Here's probably my favorite of the downtown art we saw; it's a tile piece of a St. Lucia commemoration. (Hope it turns back right side up, instead of sideways... )Good night, all! We'll make tomorrow an excellent day! Happy Saturday outdoor photo: this is part of our across-the-street neighbor's landscaping.I took 3 photos of the outdoors here in town, and apparently each is somehow too big to post. I will get taking pics on this phone before it's time for an update-I will!! Meanwhile, enjoy a photo of our now-17-yo princess, Chrissy, when she was a bit younger. And everyone have a wonderful night, with peaceful rest! :-)On my way to take the computer to the shop, but it"s a decent hair day, so hello on May Day! #prioritiesI hope everyone decides to become what they will. Our dachshund Chrissy doesn't even bother with the stilts, btw. ;-)Off topic: I found this shiny golden bug on one of my favorite blossoms on the front porch. DH says it's a member of the ladybug family, but is unsure of its name. The light spaces are seriously golden-they glisten like jewelry.Well, it's getting a bit thundery here at the homestead, so I'm going to get off the puter for a bit. We should be fine; good words and thoughts are always appreciated, too! :-) I'll check back later if it isn't too late, or else in the morning. Here's to a great day for all of us! Meet or even exceed our goals, acknowledge our worth to ourselves, take good care of ourselves, and exude the love to make as much space around us as bright as we can. We have this day by the tail, so here's to making the most of it! :-)Humor seems to be called for, as much for myself as for any- and everyone else. Enjoy a good laugh, and pass it on! It burns calories. ;-DYep, it's this time of morning here. Enjoy, and do all you can to make it a great day!

– Reverend Sydney Smith'Hurray-the boil water order is rescinded now. No contamination found at all, so purging evidently is not required, either. Joy!Enjoying simple things this day.Planting these today, here in a bit. 🙂Done!🙂Meet our 18 yo dachsie, Chrissy. 😀â¤Well, off to school for the last day of Latchkey for this term. Everyone stay safe, kick tail, and love yourselves and everyone else! BBL. :-)I get an email newsletter called "The What." Last week's, which I opened today(!), is all about sleep and how it can be elusive in middle age. I'm going to put 2 links here, one for info (not sales) about Evening Primrose, and one to the National Sleep Foundation; the writers say they visit that portal when they cannot sleep. FWIW to those who want to check them out. :-) http://thewhatlist.com/evening-primrose-oi

l-cure-all/ , and https://www.sleepfoundation.org/This butterfly bush is very happy with the flooding rains we've been receiving with all the severe storms! 🙂And here's a tiny flutterby who likes the green butterfly bush.Joy in the morning. The lantana are beginning to show themselves! This is the butterfly bush where the butterfly was eating the other day. Not as purple as the other bush, but still looks at least lavender. Here's our pretty marigold, still standing, just like all of us Sparkpeople! 🙂 Smells nice, too!! Time to brighten the world at large. Or, maybe just tackle it...The "green" butterfly bush where the butterfly was eating earlier is blooming magnificently! My favorite summertime tea and water cup-12 oz. Stay hydrated, everybody!Grateful for "ugly" zucchini and my spiralizer! How do they decide when a zucchini is ugly, though? 🤔 They aren't exactly pretty to begin with, really... 😀My Eternal Sunshine notif. for this morning, posted to shoutout to my friend @VEGANNATURELOVE , who introduced me to the ap:
"Try not to measure your progress by time. Measure it by your heart's devotion and commitment to the thing you wish to achieve." Happy Monday, everyone! :-) :-)It is Wednesday already! #tomorrowIgetmyhairdone ;-) I know we're all going to crush our goals for the morning, then move on to the afternoon, and get it done! I hope everyone's day is just great, with lots of nice little things to keep us going strong. Keep Sparking! :-)Woot! Look what I got while I was doing my squats! #incentive #neighborsnowknowI'mnuts
Leaf lettuce, I think some mesclun, baby dandelion, radish, and even a couple of beet greens! The garden is coming back from the flood, it seems.🙂Ok. So, these are my version of one of those chopped salads that I love, but am skittish to buy anymore. There is cabbage chopped into the greens I harvested earlier; chopped raw beets, chopped yellow bell pepper, and chopped tomato. I threw in some GG cauliflower stuffing mixed veggies with cranberries, too. There will also be patty melts for DH, and mini turkey patties in lettuce "buns" for me. Now, if he'll just get back from the barber, we can eat!! 😃It's what's for supper at the Redford manse: tuna pasta salad. This is before dressing; DH will have creamy Italian, I'll have my new obsession: Newman's Own Sesame Ginger. This has tuna, chopped carrots, chopped sweet peppers, chopped radish and beet greens, and spaghetti squash. There will be tomatoes on top. What's for supper by you?🙂I snagged this right here on SparkPeople a few weeks back, and now it's time to post it again. Thank you, whoever posted it before! :-)Another laugh for a hot Thursday. Enjoy!Today has been one of those days, truly 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, a few more here, a few more there. Ah, well, some days are like this!I have plenty-please take one if you like or need!!
Screaming for nice cream!Screaming for nice cream!Saturday smiles-enjoy your weekend! :-)We did it! Let's make it a great one! Takin' my tea on ice these days...😎"I can take my time and still be productive. Success is not a race; it is a practice." The notification I just got from Eternal Sunshine. I thought it was worth sharing. Practice! :-) :-)My first Eternal Sunshine notification today: "There is beauty in our mistakes that cannot be seen in perfection. There is growth in our failures that cannot be garnered in success." I don't really believe in "fail" literally in regard to living our lives, but I agree that we are all beautiful!! Make it a great Monday. So, DH and I have been out of town for a few days. We went to Topeka to visit with his pension manager, to put our ducks in a row for his retirement. :-) We had a great time away, and I'll probably write more later about it, but it's still sort of vacation time. Meanwhile, when we went to check the garden, two of these greeted us! :-) #happyplace "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'

“Take everything you like seriously, except yourselves.â€
"Write it down and plant the seed. Affirm yourself and watch it grow." -Eternal Sunshine notificationFinal for the day. I don't feel like I really did strength, but I did do pushups, and a good powerwalk with wristweights.
Well, I did another good powerwalk with weights, then some stairs (on the order of a step machine, but real steps that I run, supposedly for fun,) then some dancing to finish it all off. Kinda late getting back here, but it was a good day. From my daily MUTTS email:

Well, today is National Tell-A-Joke Day. Some people can tell 'em-lookin' at you, @NANASUEH ! :-D -and some people can't (I am she.) So, I've borrowed a few from the Farmers' Almanac page about National Tell-A-Joke Day. Enjoy!
"What do you call the door to a chicken coop?
"Where do chickens go on vacation?
"What do you call a chicken crossing the road?
Poultry in motion."OK, here's the final tally. I have the good fortune of having a laundry room that is off our carport, down some stairs, and I had a load this afternoon, along with some more garden puttering, doggie care, and a good 32 minute powerwalk (no weights today.) I should have reported earlier; I'm sorry. Started out with old school calisthenics; stretching, pushups, situps; did some dancing as I prepared brunch (one of my favorite times of the week!), then did a great 40 min. powerwalk this afternoon. Thank you so much, it's been so much more fun doing this as a challenge! :-)

(I am taking a few classes, getting in-service hours in prep for work in a couple of weeks, so I'm here on Spark, yet not here. Till later.)Well, look who invited themselves over for breakfast! I loved that marigold, but I think its time is past, and this little squirrel is so brazenly adorable and not at all intimidated by my presence. Time for me a walk-hope everyone's morning is groovy! Well, look who invited themselves over for breakfast! I loved that marigold, but I think its time is past, and this little squirrel is so brazenly adorable and not at all intimidated by my presence. Time for me a walk-hope everyone's morning is groovy! Woot-woo!!! All classes finished, all exams aced, all certificates submitted! Time for a celebratory powerwalk with weights!! :-D :-D
