r_2007-01.pdfA Sunday morning walk - the roads and paths all quiet at this time of year I felt very adventurous going out in the dark this morning - running by the sea and meeting only other lone runners - it was a perfect way to start this last day of the year. I was tickled to get the badge from Garmin (I love the virtual gongs and rewards on these apps - Garmin is really good at celebrating achievements) This one was for doing an activity on the last day of the year.is so delighted with this word-picture that my son gifted to me for Xmas - I love it! It was a tough walk but I really enjoyed it. If you'd like to see some photos of Poldark country I've posted some in my blog today.
This photo is some of the steps up to The Minnack Theatre (the 'escape route') at Porthcurno in Cornwall, UKIt's today - Global Climate Strike I'm working this afternoon/evening, so took the opportunity to get a walk to a lovely local garden this morning (National Trust) #GreenTherapy I've had a lovely restorative Sunday - lucky me, eh? Pretty darned good today: 16 mins hill run repeats before my first coffee; then a trail-type walk of 90 mins this afternoon. I'm posting the walking as my #fitness for today. The photo is of a 'stepped stone stile' - I love the granite stiles I spent some time just relaxing in the sea-front gardens today - and wanted to share this picture - I thought they looked so pretty (part of the 'rewilding' project going on)approx 9 km (possibly 10) this morning doing a run/walk thing....... lovely quiet, fresh, sunny, Sunday morning #GetOutdoorsAcceptance is feeling good after 2 days off - back to work for the weekend and planning to stay relaxedMy big victory for today is getting through it on-plan, and not giving in to the temptation of chocolate! #BeStrong #Sparking this info-graphic about 'forward' and 'backward' food has really been helping me be strongAfter work, and not feeling much like it, I got on my bicycle and cycled 6 miles UP and DOWN over the moors to get to Morvah Pasty Day. The UP and Down over the moors to get home again. I was rewarded by a great feeling of accomplishment, and some beautiful views! This photo is of Lanyon Quoit (neolithic) (and an engine house in the distance) I'll be heading out on my bicycle later today - over the moors! A lovely day out walking with my friendI did it! 10 km trail run done this evening - fantastic evening - the rain stopped - it was beautiful! I timed myself at around 1hr 12 mins - which is amazing for me! Who went out without her hat this morning? Whoops! The sun was very strong and I should definitely have been wearing a hat! 10.7 km - then I stopped and walked in the shade for another 1.5 km home. But - I did it! #IMetMyGoal! Phew! I went out for a really warm run after work today! I had hoped to run with a friend, but she didn't make it. 7.16 km and a lot of hill climbing - which also meant some lovely downhill sections too! 16.8 k on a wonderful Sunday afternoon! 10.8 km along the lovely, flat, coast path this morning #UpAndOut I came across the set-up for a big endurance run (23 miles multi-terrain - very hard) and wondered how on earth they do it - there are HUNDREDS of entrants! https://ratracemanvscoast.co.uk/this time last year - Porthcurno saw a bit of ordinary magic this morning on my run - the mist on the meadow was really lovelyUp and out early again (hooray for the long days of summer!) and had a very adventurous run ;) don't you just love how the bindweed has worked it's way along the ironwork on this gate - I thought it looked so pretty (unlike my feet & legs which were muddy and scratched!) #EarlyBirdI was up early and out the door just after 5.30 am. It was a calm, peaceful morning, and the smell of the sea was just wonderful. I'm so lucky to live here. #BreathInBreathOutI got up early this morning - it's been extremely windy overnight and the sea is still very choppy. But the wind made it a pleasant run and kept me cool #JustDoItIt was hot today. After work I just had an irrepressible desire to run! So I did! Not far, not fast, but I ran. And it felt SO GOOD! #FeelGoodFactor I got up and out to run at least 8 miles this morning - spurred on my a pledge I made to support one running every day in June for charity. He's running 16 miles on 16th June, 17 miles on 17th, 18 miles on 18th and so on! He is an experienced ultra-runner, so it's not such a big deal for him - but still a great challenge! I couldn't do 16 miles, so said I'd do a 'Half'! 13.6 km along fabulous quiet, country lanes. Lovely! I woke to torrential rain - but it didn't stop me today - I enjoyed it! #RunnersAreWaterproofI was thrilled to wake up and feel my running mojo was back! Up and out before breakfast - leafy lanes, grassy field paths, granite styles, bubbling streams #FeelingGreatAfter-run glow! 6.5km run - just the job! #justdoit (this was an actual photo taken this morning on my run) Swinging with my grandson! Enjoyed parkrun with my d-i-l this morningis going to do the town trail today - in fact there are two town trails, and I'll probably do them both! Another fabulous run/walk adventure! I get butterflies in my stomach before I start, but once I get going I'm fine. 11.78k over the luscious Penwith moors, down the wooded valleys, following the stream down to the sea. Today I enjoyed a stroll........... about 7 miles of mindful walking along flower-filled lanes and in lush exotic gardens; a perfect day! I enjoyed a lovely run at parkrun this morning - no record-breaking speeds here, but a real feel-good factor! I enjoyed a lovely Sunday run - sea views, wild flowers, hills, streams, flags and swans! I got up and out early this Easter Sunday - to beat the heat! trotted down tranquils lanes filled with birdsong, jogged up hills with blue skies above, flew down hills with the sea ahead! Glorious! and a personal best of 18.39k! My hero! An a great example of an altruistic person. Saw this and recognised the Spark philosophy. Slow & steady wins the race. Keep Sparking!
