Gearing up for the holiday weekend, plus some reflection...

We have a busy and social weekend coming up. I'm going to be sure to have some easy-to-grab food in the house so when we are in and out all weekend, we don't have to rely on restaurants or fast food.

String cheese, trail mix, fruit salad, yogurt. . .

I think I'll make a healthy casserole, too, so we have something to warm up quickly.

I'm learning to listen to my body and have had some interesting revelations these past few days. I'll be sharing more about them in the next week or so.

On June 1, I'll be updating my total weight lost on my Sparkpeople page. I liked the idea of doing it once a month because it helps me keep an eye on the 'big picture' and not obsess about the scale on a daily or weekly basis. I weigh myself frequently but the monthly 'ticker' helps me keep it in perspective.

I think I'll be at about a 30 pound loss. i had hoped for more after 5 months but then I practice at realizing that i have lost at a rate of 1-2 pounds a week which is a healthy rate and one that is likely to stick! And if I keep up at the rate, by the end of the year i will have lost somewhere between 60-70 pounds which is quite an accomplishment!!

There is so much more to this journey than just weight loss. I am learning so much!
