Lupus Flare, pain level 9
Monday, July 14, 2008
Morning everyone.
I have had one miserable weekend. The mild rash I reported earlier has turned into a raging rash, From the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I have barely slept the past three days. Had considered going to emergency because the itch is so bad.
I have never had it like this before. I actually have large welts that rise up all over. And it is like an allergy reaction, but I have not taken anything new or been around anything new.
Another strange thing is the welts will came up one place after a while go down and come some where else. So it is like it is traveling up and down my body. The only other thing I can think of is Thursday it was 117 degrees here and I was outside a lot, and as you know we Lupies are suppose to avoid being in the sun. Plus The medication I am on "Celcept" for my kidneys, specifically says to avoid sun exposure.
I have tried every cream I have, plus benadryl tablets, oatmeal wash, vinegar baths baking soda, you name it i have tried it, I even bumped my prednisone up to 20mg. Right now the rash and itching is concentrated in my feet. They are so red right now.
Fortunately I see my Doctor today. And hopefully he will be able to give me some relief.
Of course there is a bright side to this. With the aggravation and pain from the itching and scratching I don't think of the other pains.
Well I better run It has been an effort to sit here and type. I probably won't be posting much anywhere today or until this is cleared up.
As I have sat here and typed, now the itching has gone into my hands and it is not a topical itch but deep under the skin itch, If any of you can relate to that.
I'm going to post this to my blog so I have a dated record of this event.
Have to run, have a wonderful day.
Rick
