Shelby started off the day by not trying and we went up and down from there today. I was able to be really productive despite back issues and tending to Shelby's needs but I was really moody/down in the dumps. Last night I got a lecture from Steve's dad on the "benefits" of hunting after he told me about "losing" a deer - he and a buddy shot one then couldn't find it/put it out of it's misery. This was after I asked him not to tell me any more about it since Steve and I have a deal that he and Shane can tell me about it if they see baby or mommy dear but not if they shot/killed a deer. He told me that's not the right attitude to have. Anyways, back to this morning, one of my biggest pair of pants don't fit, Shelby had redeemed herself so we made fun plans then she made more bad choices and the plans we made got taken away. We still had fun between chores and took the 3 dogs on their first walk in a couple days between my back and Dolly's hind leg problems. Not the smartest of choices but...I did it anyways. Steve and Shane got home earlier than I thought they would. I asked Steve if he had considered not going because of his wife's back problems to which he answered it hadn't even considered it. Good to know. Apparently I've hidden my pain well and/or my hubby "forgot" that we have a 50 pound daughter who needs constant lifting. Steve and I tried to have a conversation about not doing anything that I had asked him to do yesterday during the 4 hours he and Shane were home which didn't go anywhere. It doesn't matter whether it's verbal or written down. Then we chose to make a new recipe and he was the one who decided to sit down in front of the computer to read the recipe aloud to the person (me) who just took a heavy duty pain med while I tried to stand and cook away in the kitchen. Eventually he was informed that wasn't working out too well for his wife and we traded positions. We had dinner and a good rest of the evening. Tomorrow he's off work so we're having a "date" day while the kids are at school.
Ok, that was just very whiny - sorry - so, the highlights of my day to end on a positive note:
Towards the end of our walk, Shelby told me something funny and she just started belly laughing at herself 1/2 block away from our house and we just spent a couple minutes sharing a laugh; When Shane got home he was sleeping so I went out to give him kisses to wake him up and he was just so darn cute and sweet looking; I had a blast texting a friend; my house looks better than it did this morning; Steve and I are doing fun things tomorrow.
