I will start changing my life TODAY

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Short and sweet - TODAY, not tomorrow, not next week, not November 1st, not January 1st, I will start changing my lifestyle. I WILL GET BACK ON TRACK.

How many times can you tell yourself this before you actually do it? For me, it's been almost 2 months of a continuous struggle and I've been mildly depressed and exhausted over trying to balance my home, professional and fitness life. NO MORE!

I will:

- start tracking my calories
- keep away from lunch buffets
- start running again - 3x a week!
- train for a 10k in less than 55 minutes (by November 27th)
- start getting in morning workouts - my schedule has left me no choice
- eating less meat, more fruit and veggies
- stop drinking hard liquor and so much wine. I feel like I've replaced cigarettes with alcohol and I can feel it in every part of me
- playing the piano again
- finish my professional article that has been in the works for months
- KEEP IN BETTER TOUCH WITH MY SPARK FRIENDS!!

When I was successful in reaching my goal of 130 (I am not 10 pounds up), I was doing all of the above.

I can do this! Feel free to keep me accountable!

Thank you and MUCH LOVE to my spark friends that have been so supportive of me even though I have been terrible in reciprocating that encouragement.

I had a bit of a backslide as well recently. I gained 10 lbs, ugh. It's good to be back on track though. We're human, we have to forgive ourselves and go forward.

Girl you can totally do it!
The acupuncture has been great - i only did it once but will do it again probably next week. I can write you the names of the herbs but they are for:
    **Energy
    **Stress
    **H
eat - I get hot flashes
    **Bowel Movements (TMI)

It is a lot of stress to think about having to keep your body healthy not only for yourself but possibly for a baby.

You have done such a great job so you just need to keep with it.

I think we've all experienced times when our motivation starts to fail and our goals begin to suffer. It's okay sometimes to take a break and regroup and come back stronger than ever. I too have let myself start to eat without thinking and when I weighed-in this morning, after 3 months of not weighing in, I gained 9 pounds! I said to myself I'm going to start today to monitor what I eat. And guess what?! I had a cookie!! Tomorrow, no cookies. Glad you're getting back on track!!

I am up 10 pounds, too, hon. Trust me, I totally understand your struggle. You're blog on 10/26 was me on 10/22! Enough is finally enough. I am back on track. I've been working out a lot this past week, and I'm getting my eating back on track. You always have to start somewhere. It's a whole new start for a whole new goal and a whole new adventure getting there! Good luck to you! We can BOTH do it!

We all fall down again and again. The important thing is that we pick ourselves up again and again and keep going. YOU WILL DO IT!

Take a deep breath. Just take it one step at a time and don't take on too much at one time. We have to live life moment by moment and really be in it. Don't let yourself get so wound up with worry that you make it worse. You can do this. Believe in yourself. You are a fighter. The most important thing is, don't give up. I always say, if you slip, do the flip and get back on track but don't let it spiral out of control. Have a great journey. Pam

TODAY is always a good place to start! Remember, that you reached your goal once - now it is time to get back to that goal and then some...meaning maintenance and awareness of what is good for you!

When I think back to when I decided to start running and how many times I have stopped and started over the last six years, I realized that sometimes you have to take steps backward in order to move forward. You learn from those steps backward!

So remember what you have achieved and move beyond! I'll be rooting for you!
