I blew it when I maintained

I have been maintaining for a few months now and have really blown it. I have regained 9 lbs and feel terrible about myself for letting that happened. I know my problem is I like my beer way to much and I stopped exercising everyday. It broke my heart when I had to go in and do a weighin on Sparkpeople and put my new weight in. I also had to change my profile image from 40 lbs to 30 what a heartbreak. I am back on track now and I am going to do the right thing to lose this 9 lbs and get my 40 lb lost profile back on line. I know if I stick with Sparkpeople I can do it.

    Hi sweet heart, you can be a Starr again. Make goal and hit your goal. Beer is making you fat baby, I like to see your photo in teen age shorts. I know you can do it.

    beer......i remember when I first tried it and thought it was gross and would never drink it. Oh, if I could only go back!!! :) With my sugar problems, I had to give it up, but then discovered Mich Ultra - been my downfall ever since! hee hee I have found that on days that I KNOW I am gonna go home and have a couple or am going out, I try to really cut any excess - I eat tons of fruits and veggies that are low on cals and high on vitamins and fiber. Add just enough real lean protein to get what I need and then I feel like I have the calories and carbs to spare. Walk an extra mile or two for some additional exercise that day and i alleviate all guilt! Now, whether my theory is good or not, that is arguable, but it works for me! Find what works for you, makes you feel good (we only ride this train of life once ya know!) and does not derail you too badly. You will have that 9 off in no time!

    Starr, don't beat yourself up!! We all make those choices and mistakes....I have gained by 1/2 of what I lost and am trying to get back on track now. You can do this, just stay positive and you will succeed just like before. Keep the faith!!! Jules

    Lol, I like my wine, too, but don't be too hard on yourself. It's important to learn how to maintain, and 9 pounds isn't that much, not really. I'm sure you'll be back to your goal in not time and have better knowledge of your tendencies in the future because of this happening now. Good luck and I know you can do it!

    I had a hiccup too, but got back on track.
    We're only human and I've forgiven myself now (was very angry and disappointed at 1st).
    You'll lose the weight again, I did.

    I am also at the maintining phase of the program, & I am so afraid of actually gaining weight that I am probably being a little crazy about my food. I have actually lost about 5 more pounds than I had planned on, because I pretty much have continued to follow the same program that I was on before.

    When you stopped the program did you just add back a few foods, or did you kind of go "whole hog." I'm glad to read your blog & see that you have weighed & are going to do something about it before it's really too bad. That in itself is very, very motivating. I can see that if I do fall off the wagon, that I can just get back on again!
