Someone on one of my teams was asking about how to handle the holiday, and I thought about it... and got so many wonderful comments about my reply that I decided I wanted to remind MYSELF, so I'm copying it here...LOL
'Having a tiny snack half an hour before the meal starts can curb appetite... as can drinking a glass of water. After that, the others are right...
'Portion control really is the biggest secret, and every bite you take should be chewed slowly and SAVORED. Put your fork down between bites, take a little sip of something, and take the time to talk to the person sitting next to you BEFORE you take the next bite.
'When you think about it, living is all about being in the here and now. It's all we really have, and making the most of each moment you spend this year with the people you love, turning each instant into a memory that's more than an overstuffed stomach and a huge mess to clean up... THAT'S what holidays are for.
'It's hard sometimes to remember, believe me I KNOW! Especially when the stuffing and the pumpkin pie are calling my name...LOL
