Everyday is a chance to make good or bad choices.

I think the title of this blog sounds like an uplifting fortune cookie but that's not really the point of this entry. The things is that tonight I really want to make it a good night. I have eaten well today and tonight I will have the house all to myself for a few hours while my husband is off playing his Wednesday night basketball game. I KNOW that angel on my right wants me to get home, veg a little, then run or workout for up to an hour, then do my homework, then relax and reward myself with some awesome sushi. Devil on my left will want me to eat my sushi as soon as I get home in front of the TV, then move on to some chips and dip, then maybe a few cookies or brownies and so on until I mope off to bed. If I listen to the angel, I will be done with the workout and the homework by 9 and enjoy the rest of my night. When I go to bed I will feel great about all I got done today. If I listen to the devil, I will not only feel bad when I'm lying in my bed tonight, I will also feel fairly crappy while I munch on chips and sit mindlessly. This is such a no-brainer it's amazing! Then why does the devil win so often!?!? I'm making a promise to myself to be great tonight. I really hope I keep it. Stay tuned if you want to find out...

Follow-up. YES! I did well. I relaxed a little. Ran for an hour. Then I was so freaking exhausted that I just showered and went to bed...and did my homework the following night. So I can say at least one our of 365 nights this year has gone well :o)
